Gracias! The universe does provide when you channel positive energy toward a singular goal. It ain't over though. The hard work really begins in post production. We're ready and super excited about the creative collaboration that is taking shape. More to come. Smooches.

OMG! It's so on like Donkie ---- (wink)

Today was such a crazy busy day for me that I didn't even eat lunch and I totally forgot about our Kickstarter funding deadline. Seriously.

So you can imagine how thrilled I was to receive a text message from my co-producer saying our project had been successfully funded... to the penny....at the eleventh hour.

We are so grateful for all of the support we've received over the past month and a half. It's not easy to rally folks around a short film project but we did it—with a lot of help from friends, family, and 61 generous individuals. Thank you all so very much for helping manifest a dream.

    More to come tomorrow.

    Muchos besos y grazie mille!

Thank you for showing your support.

These are exciting times my friends. It's so wonderful to see our pals come out and show their support of our film. We really appreciate all of the emails we've received and shouts outs of support on Facebook. It really does take an entire community to bring a professional short film production to fruition.

The other night when a friend asked why our film budget was so high, it made me remember something my art teacher in high school once told me. She said always ask, "Compared to what?" So I asked and my sweet dear friend said, "...you know those really cool YouTube videos you see nowadays."

My co-producer and I laughed because my last short film (MAMA SAID) cost close to $35,000. We shot MAMA SAID on 35mm film back then in my hometown Chicago. Thankfully advancements have been made in technology so I don't have to shoot on film unless I want to. There's no sacrificing look and feel anymore when shooting digitally. I do have to admit that nothing really comes close to film but the difference is subtle when in the hands of a master cinematographer like mine.

Most folks don't know how expensive it is to make a professional short film. The costs are what keep most aspiring filmmakers out of this game. Fundraising is the part we all dread the most. Who likes to ask for financial assistance? Not me. That's fo' shizzle!

That is... until we became aware of Kickstarter.com. What a great concept. Contributors can actually get some pretty nice pledge awards for their donations. This is something most folks can wrap their minds around. It's a win win and an exciting feeling to be part of making a dream come true.

Thank you all for your support and help with spreading the word as far as we all can.

    Peace.
    Yasmina
