    Production Update

    Production Update:

Hello and welcome to Monster in soloNOVA as presented by Kickstarter.com!

For those of you that are interested in contributing as a Backer or are simply interested in learning more about my production of Daniel MacIvor's Monster, this is a great way to check out updates on our process...

The Monster Production Team has completed it's first week of rehearsals. It was a very exciting and fascinating week as we had several meeting of the minds. Byron Laviolette, our Theatrical Consultant joined us from Toronto, Ontario for 4 excellent rehearsal sessions. He brought forth a wealth of knowledge based on seeing Mr. Daniel MacIvor (Playright) perform MONSTER several times throughout the years. Byron was able to answer very specific questions about past productions from Steve Cook (Director) and myself. This was an invaluable experience which has already contributed to our progress.

Week 2 of rehearsals is about to commence. Steve and I will be working on our own to develop the play, characters and context further. We will be rehearsing at Shetler Studios.

I am also pleased to announce that The Bridge Theatre Company has joined the Monster Production Team as an Associate Producer. The Bridge boasts two phenomenal Artistic Directors in Esther Barlow and Dustin Olson. Esther and Dustin are long time collaborators of mine as I am also a Member of The Bridge and we all went to The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Acting together some 7 years ago (my how time flies). I am very excited to have this young upstart theatre company as an influence on Monster. They have produced several of Mr. MacIvor's plays and I look forward to continuing their tradition of bringing Canadian plays south of the 49th parallel.

I hope all is well with you out there.

    Very truly,

    --
