Posted project update #16Annoucing A Relationship with Modio Media
Post CommentHello,
I write this evening from the train on my way back to New Jersey from a business trip to DC. I am pleased to announce that we have struck a relationship with a documentary company with offices in Chicago and Tuscany that will help us get to the finish line. The reason we will be working with them is pretty simple, their experience in the field, namely in the production of the very successful and Emmy Nominated PBS program, "And They Came to Chicago - An Italian American Legacy" narrated by Tony-Award winner Joe Mantegna. They have also produced documentaries for CNN and other global media outlets and I am pleased to have the opportunity to work with this very talented husband and wife team!
While this may seem coincidental, it is not. Our connection with with Modio Media was born directly out of our Toledo, Ohio visit where I met potential film benefactor Ramy Eidi. Ramy introduced me to his talented sister Lila, a former CNN producer and she introduced me to Modio Media out of Tuscany. The Toledo trip would have never have happened if it wasn't for Jamie Farr introducing me to Dr. Samir Abu-Absi...I am rolling with all this as you can see!
Modio Media just submitted a full budget for the film...and I am excited to share with that it is NOT an insurmountable number!!! At this point we are actively seeking sponsors and investors. So if you or your company would like to participate, please let me know.
I am also pleased to share with you the launch of our new website. It includes all the donors and patrons of the project. It is not fully complete, but as I said before...I am rolling with this...check it out at www.arabamericathefilm.com - pretty soon we will build an entire section where you can share your family's story...so stay-tuned!
Also, please check to make sure that your name is indeed on the list, if we missed we apologize in advance, but please do tell us and we will make sure it gets on ASAP.
On June 5th, I will be interviewing race car legend, Bobby Rahal in Indianapolis, Indiana! Our goal is to get this done by the end of this year...now who wants to help us raise the rest of the funds? :) :)
Thanks very much for your continued support!!

Thanks for sharing that Abe. He will indeed be missed as such a wonderful voice of what is going on in the Middle East. Very sad...

Good luck and thank you for the update. I let some of my friends know about the need for Syrian translator and a boy for voice over. Hopefully you'll find someone soon!

We are so excited that your project is moving forward and what wonderful news to arrive on Palm Sunday (Shanini) which our family used to celebrate at Our Lady of Lebanon in Brooklyn.
Keep the good news coming.

Thanks Joyce! I'd like to think of it as our project :) I hope to have more good news for you and Happy Palm Sunday!
