Posted project update #5Shiva's Mother and Other Stories
Post CommentRemember that one time when I did a Kickstarter to ransom a short story and you totally backed me? ME TOO. Good times, good times.
I've long since sent "Shiva's Mother" live. It took a while, but I've also completed all four of the bespoke short stories for my high-flyer backers. And today I'm releasing Shiva's Mother and Other Stories -- a small collection including "Shiva's Mother" (which you've all read already), the four bespoke short stories written for this Kickstarter, and as a bonus, a story called Evocation that I wrote for the Commie Pinko Writing Contest this spring. (And it won, too!)
The collection is available only on Kindle for $2.99. Today it costs money -- but shhhh, it looks like I'll be doing a 48-hour promotion starting tomorrow (that makes it May 22 and 23) during which you will be able to get it for free. Buy today, snag it for free tomorrow, I don't mind either way. You've already shown tremendous support. I just hope you read and enjoy the stories.
One more thing! This is the last email I'll send out on this particular Kickstarter. But if you'd like this kind of news from me in the future, you should consider signing up for my shiny, delicious email newsletter.
Annnnnd that's a wrap. I love you guys. Did I say I love you yet? Because it's true. Thanks for your support. It means worlds to me to know you're all out there.

Posted project update #3Posted!
Post CommentThe text for Shiva's Mother is posted here: http://www.deusexmachinatio.com/shivas-mother/
If you've been omitted from the credits or I used a bad name or a bad link, please let me know and I'll fix it ASAP. The audio version is coming, probably next week, assuming my neighbors' construction is all done.
Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy the story. It's actually quite frightening to be putting it out here like this!
There is a thread on my blog here for discussing what I was trying to do with it if, you know, anyone is interested in that kind of thing.

Posted project update #1So that happened...
I am blown away, you guys. I feel like I should have something more interesting to say, something witty and pithy that will make you all smile, but all I can say is WOW. Just... wow.
I never in a million years expected this kind of support, and especially not in less than 24 hours. Thank you so, so much. I so owe you! And I'll do my best to pay it forward.
