My concert at Chevy Chase Church in Washington D.C. two nights ago. Playing the new pieces live gets them ready for recording.

I can hardly wait to hear them after listening to the tidbit you have provided.

Seeing this picture of you performing in vast venue, acoustically speaking, made me wonder what kind of studio environment you'll be using for your recording. I was shuffling through my Andrew York playlist on my home stereo the other day, and Faire and Bagatelle came on in succession. I really like how those pieces were recorded - the guitar sounds like it's mic'd close enough to record a decent amount of attack, but not too close that you hear too much fret noise. The bass strings are also very clean and not too resonant, which happens often when the mic is too close. It basically sounds very natural and intimate, with little to no artificial enhancement.
The reason I'm asking - I am not an audio engineer, just an audiophile with thousands of guitar recordings - is that the video you recently posted, as well as some recent YouTube uploads of live recordings, sound like they have way more reverb than you've historically employed. I was hoping you weren't thinking about changing course in how your stuff has previously been recorded, aside from finding a quieter studio as you previously mentioned!

Sorry for the delay on my credit card. I got hacked. If you are ever in the San Francisco Bay Area I would really enjoy meeting you.

Ah, strings. I'm not sure which La Bella basses were on this Daily - it was either the 2001 series medium hard tension, or either the pure silver or plated silver Argento strings, and probably medium hard tension. I'll be more specific on the recording and make notes of which strings I actually use, and put that in the liner info!

Cool Andy!
We had a dinner in your honor with Stan and Ann, Kevin and Kathy. A Cajun eggplant preparation transmuted vegetarian a la my creative cogitations. Lots of conversation and joviality, all acoustic.
Good luck! Patrick
This is the second time I've run into the word 'luthier' recently -- & I don't think I'd ever heard it before a few weeks ago. Both on Kickstarter projects. I have *got* to find a way to work it into a conversation!
Looking forward to the album.
What an exciting update! I can hardly wait to hear the results, but I have to admit that being a part of this on Kickstarter, and getting updates and info on your process, is a total BLAST!!! Best of luck Andrew.
