    That's a wrap...

    Dear Backers,

We are home from the Minnesota Fringe Festival and still processing our time there. I have a couple of newer blogs at "Mom's Rant" on our web site--they are here: http://www.yourmotherdances.com/cgi-bin/blog

As you will read there, it was a really fulfilling experience. I hope you were able to go to the Minnesota Fringe Festival web site and catch some of our amazing audience reviews. They are here: http://www.fringefestival.org/2010/show/.... Click on the "Reviews" tab.

For more post show reading, I also answered some questions for "Behind the Fringe" you may find interesting: http://behindthefringe.com/index.php....

We were also mentioned very positively in a couple of blogs:
    Here's one quote:
"Just one more thrilling update: I think my relationship with dance is salvageable! I saw a beautiful, fun, whimsical dance show yesterday at the Southern: In a Black Mood, by Your Mother Dances from Milwaukee. They danced to Neko Case and Heart! They were sexy and light hearted and fun and interesting! They didn't try to make their movement say something deep and true about heteronormativity and capitalism! I liked it. Whew."
    [minnesota playlist]

The link to the other is here and we are mentioned very positively:
    http://minnesotaplaylist.com/magazine/column_post/black-spandex-and-heavy-breathing-08092010-1027pm

I think we sent some of these prior to going or while we were there. But if you still need and want to catch up, here they all are.

THANK YOU for getting us there and making it possible. THANK YOU to those of you who got in the car or flew to see us. We hope you were proud and had a great time in Minneapolis. We are so thrilled to have new supporters and fans back in Milwaukee.

And guess what? We want to go back!! I'll admit to being a little addicted to the positive attention--it was a huge boost of confidence and courage to continue on this road. But as with most things, going back is dependent on the luck of the draw so we will keep you updated on our prospects for next year. And maybe the Fringe circuit is actually a really good fit for us. There are excited, committed audiences who are dying to see something new or funny or surprising or shocking and perhaps that is more where we thrive. We feel good there too.

And now, we need to get to work getting you your framed postcards and DVD copies. If you haven't updated your contact information yet, please do that this coming week so we can get your gifts to you and also so your donation is tax deductible with Bad Soviet Habits (they need addresses to get your confirmation letter to you). It may take a little time to get a DVD together but we hope to have that out in 2-3 weeks.

All our gratitude and good wishes to each and every one of you!

    Elizabeth

    Almost there!!

Your Mother Dances is almost safely to our goal and thanks to everyone who has pledged! Again, every bit we go over our goal is also appreciated as it will return directly to the dancers to help make up for the week of their regular jobs they are missing. One last little push and we'll be back in touch again to get your contact information so we can get your rewards going and get some of you to our rehearsals (or access to a web rehearsal). That should be within the next few days as we meet that $4500 mark. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

    Best,
    Elizabeth
