    Young Grasshopper

Here is a map of the grasshopper definition used to layout the panels. Tyler, here, and Troy, out in LA, put in alot of time getting all to work. Thanks guys! Don't want to bore the non-geeks, so if you want to learn more about it and download the definition check it out here: softlab-chromatex.me.

We started to install in the gallery yesterday! We will post pictures as we get them. We imagine they will be fileld with fun and mild insanity.

    Cable Net

Matt Clark has done some analysis to help create a two part cable net system to hang the installation. This would be an interesting system to work with the piece, but unfortunately we will not have the time to form find the cable net and there are not strong enough anchor points in the ceiling of the gallery. We will be using a series of rings to support the form. Thanks Matt!

    color lovers

    COLOR!

    final_axo

using grasshopper, we played with a few color options relating to point proximity.

we went through a few tests trying to control the direction and length of the gradient.

    update_4Matrix

we developed a gradient that is more of a composite allowing us to have a specific color at each of the openings and a central color where they meet. we think this stratagy will give us some super interesting views!

    final_top

the final grasshopper definition is a bit messy at the moment but this is its basic structure.

For the record the definition for color generation is the fun part, but it's only Step 1 of about 20.

        Step 2+ is all post-processing...
