Posted project update #13Update #13 - Wow!
Hi All!
So, it's been a terrific week for our little film.
We've had our world premiere, we've got some great reviews from people we respect, we showed our film at the Dallas Film Festival and sparked some fascinating debates during the Q&A. To cap it all off, this week we went to the taping of The Colbert Report where Don McLeroy was the special guest.
The reception so far has been great and, as I always say, we couldn't have done it without all of you. Here's a great article from yesterday summarizing all of our reviews thus far: http://tmdailypost.com/article/education/revisionaries-explores-sboe
It's also encouraging to know that we've started fulfilling some of our rewards. We've given some of you your credits in the film (soon to be posted to IMDB) and we've had quite a few kickstarter people come to our screenings at the festivals and it's been a thrill to meet some of you guys.
Here are a few bits that might interest you:
First, here's a link to our new trailer - http://therevisionariesmovie.com/trailer.html
Also, a link to the Colbert Report interview with Don McLeroy that aired on Monday night - http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/413074/april-23-2012/don-mcleroy
Don, Kathy and Ron were all in New York for our premiere and we got a great picture with them on the Tribeca Film Festival red carpet (attached)
Anyway, we're gearing up for some more interesting weeks ahead. We've got the Boston Film Festival and Hot Docs in Toronto coming up soon. It's all very exciting and we thank you all for your support.
Keep an eye out for the film and please remember to follow us on Twitter @TheRevsMovie for more info about the film and please also "like" our Facebook page www.facebook.com/TheRevisionaries
All best,

Posted project update #12Festivals!
Post CommentHi All,
It's been the craziest week.
We finally delivered the finished film to Tribeca and we're really excited for everyone to see it.
Here's a picture of the title from the film for your enjoyment. I've got a few post production pictures to share, so I'll post those later today.
We've also been receiving lots of other good news for the film and I'm thrilled to be able to announce that we've also been selected by The Boston Film Festival, The Dallas Film Festival and HotDocs.
It's really exciting that so many people are going to see our film! We've also emailed those who backed the project and are entitled to tickets from us. However, no matter what level you're at, we'd love to see you at the festivals and say hello. So please come to the festivals, see the film, and introduce yourselves... we'd be thrilled to meet you!
All of our screenings will be posted to the film's website. - www.therevisionariesmovie.com
We want to thank you all for your support and patience. We know it took a long time between project completion and finishing the film, but we worked tirelessly during that time and we think you'll all be proud to be a part of this film.
Thank you all!

Posted project update #11Tribeca Film Festival 2012
Post CommentWe've been busting to give you guys an update over the last few weeks, but our lips have been sealed... Now, however, we can reveal the exciting news.
We have been included in competition at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival! It's a huge honor and a long way from where we were over a year ago.
The New York Times announced the first films in the lineup and chose to single out The Revisionaries.

Here is the Tribeca lineup - http://www.tribecafilm.com/news-features/TFF_2012_World_Documentary_Competition.html
This is a terrific platform for our film and we're so grateful that we were helped in getting to this point by all of you.
We've been a little quiet on Kickstarter because we didn't want to jinx it, but we have been working feverishly to ensure that we make the best film humanly possible and we think we're almost there! We're currently finishing the grade, animation, titles, music composition, and audio mix.
Our website is still being worked on. If you go to www.therevisionariesmovie.com, you can find much more information about the film and, after we have this premiere, we will be setting up screenings and inviting you to them.
For the moment, please follow us on twitter - @TheRevsMovie
And you can like us on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/TheRevisionaries
For those of you who backed a level for a screening in your area, we would like to invite you to a screening of the film at Tribeca as our guest. We will email you details soon. For those of you who can't make it to New York, we will be able to announce a screening in your area very soon indeed.
Thank you again and please remember to watch out for the film under its new title - The Revisionaries.
Thank you from the whole team.

You're absolutely right, it has been a while and I'm desperate to post a comment. However, at the moment, I can't. We are in a really exciting period where we're working to put the final touches on the film, like music and final filming. We had a great time at IFP's film week and met some really great people who are helping us to finish and sell the film. During this time, the less I say the better off we'll be. Thanks so much for your interest and thank you for your donations. We will get there and when we do we can't wait to send everyone their DVD's and other fun stuff. Please also look out for the film under it's current title "The Revisionaries: The Texas Textbook Wars". This is still a working title, so may change again. Thanks again and keep your eye out for proper updates very soon.

Posted project update #9The Revisionaries
Hi Everyone!
So, I alluded to some good news coming down the pipeline for our film and now I can officially let you know... We've been selected for the "Spotlight on Documentaries" section of IFP's film week in NYC.
Understandably, this is very exciting news for our film. During the week, many distributors , financiers and sales agents are present to give advice and help shepherd the films selected towards distribution.
You may notice that we've made a slight change to the film... the name. We've had many discussions about the name and we've come to another working title - "The Revisionaries". This title is still a working title and we will keep considering it as the film develops.
Anyway, the cut that got us into IFP was entirely due to your help. We are still editing and hoping to refine the film further, but we expect that we will get some valuable guidane from the IFP and the experts there. We're close to finishing the film and we're looking forward to being able to show it to you.
We will be sending our newest cut to the Consulting Producers in the next week or so, so if you're a Consulting Producer, you'll see what we've been up to!
Thank you again for your support, help and patience!
From the production team!

Posted project update #8SUTTE - New Update!
Hi Everyone!
Sorry for the delay in getting an update through, but we've been in the middle of some very exciting developments for the film.
We did a cut of the film and were very excited by what we've seen. In fact, we're going to be sending this cut out to the Consulting Producers' in the next week or so.
Over the last few weeks, we've focused on getting further interviews with textbook publishers, more interviews and intimate moments with our key characters, and generally filling out some of the more informational aspects of the film. We've shot an extra 10 days and are about to go back into the edit to bring this footage in and begin the home stretch of editing the final version of the film.
We've even got some great news that we're not yet able to tell you about! I know, it's very mysterious, but very exciting! We'll be able to tell you in about two weeks, so the moment we can, we will!
The main thing, however, is that we couldn't have gotten this far without your help. We're going to keep trucking on to make sure this is the best film possible and will be sending out your rewards as soon as the film is done.
Thank you again. As there's loads coming up, I'll be sure to keep you updated on the edit. I'm also going to post a section from our edit to this site, so you can see some of the stuff we've achieved through your generous donations!
Thanks again,
Orlando, Scott, and the rest of the team!

Do you have a timeline as to when we should expect to see a return on our investment? I realize you may be busy with the project, but monthly updates would be nice.
