    Thank you so much!

It's taken me a while to post an update, but I want to thank everybody so very much for making pledges toward this little project. Our cast of three and crew of two are getting very excited as we get closer to shooting this thing. We start in about six weeks.

I'm finalizing my latest draft of the script and am sending it out to Jeremy, Laura, and Darren. I'm also sending them DVDs of some old movies I like. I'm hoping to capture some of that quirkiness of silent and early talkie comedies with A Sad State of Affairs.

With luck we may also be getting a cameo appearance by a theatrical legend. I really can't yet say much about it, but she is supposedly interested and I'll be talking to her next week to make my pitch. If all goes as planned this will probably make it into some sort of record book!

Feel free to let everybody in the universe know about this Kickstarter page. We're now 10 percent funded. Statistically, projects that make it to 25 percent almost always reach their full funding goal. Of course, Kickstarter works on an all-or-nothing system. If we reach our goal we get all the money. If we don't reach our goal, the whole thing is canceled, we don't get any of the funds, and nobody pays anything.

So, please spread the word! I really appreciate everybody's support so far. Now I see why it's so hard to break into the movie business!

    Thanks,
    Matthew
