   Photos

   Hey all!

   Thanks so much for submitting your self-portraits. They all look incredible, and I can't wait to start compiling the book. Keep an eye out for updates on the book's progress as we get closer to publishing and shipping them out.

   Also, we still have room for 25 more participants, to make our goal of 100 self portraits. Otherwise it'll just be "Self-Portraits: Defining Ourselves Through Photography", which is still cool but hey, the more the merrier.    SUCCESS!

   WHOA! We reached our goal in 24 hours, now that's teamwork. Thanks so much everyone for all your support and kind words. Looks like I'm going to have to find us a notebook. It'd be nice to find one made of recycled materials. What do you guys think of this one?

   10 percent of the final sale price goes to a non-profit called "Latin Smile", so that's pretty awesome. Suggestions and comments are welcome :]

   Also, now that we've reached our goal, I'd like to propose an alternative method of pledging. You can still pledge a $1.00 or more through kickstarter to sign-up, but now you can also donate $5.00 to a charity of your choice to participate. Just send me a copy of the confirmation email. Some of my favorites are www.Africare.org and www.Americares.org because of their high ratings on www.charitynavigator.org. Does that sound alright?

   Thanks again guys, I can't wait to start this project. And now I'm $25 closer to volunteering in Philippines. I couldn't be happier! Please continue to spread the word, (the more the merrier) and keep an eye out for future updates.

   Hahah thanks for the enthusiasm!! Yes, the 2-page spread people can submit a photo 7x14" or smaller. They should be JPG's, 300DPI and in CMYK color profile. Hope that helps, thanks again!

    SUCCESS!

    Hooray for the success of the 100 Self-Portraits project!!!

    Congratulations everyone, and thank you so much for your enthusiasm and kind words. You guys are incredible and we appreciate everything you've done to support the project.

    Now, finally, to collect the self-portraits! You have complete freedom with the self-portraits (that's the idea, right?) as long as they are taken of you and by you. Please send in a self-portrait that is:

    7 inches x 7 inches maximum in size
    300 DPI
    CMYK color space (which is the best quality according to blurb)

    We are also hoping to include a short caption with the photos if we can fit them in, so please send a caption no longer than 500 characters in length in this format:

    Name (in Bold)
    Title, Year
    Medium, Size (optional)
    A sentence about why this self-portrait exemplifies who you are.

    I hope you're all excited to get started! We'll set the deadline for two weeks from today, does that sound alright? So by Friday, February 19 at Midnight Eastern Time, please send the photo in those specifications to 100SelfPortraits@gmail.com. Hope that works for everyone, thanks again guys! Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help in any way with the process.

    Hey All!

    Hey party people!

    Only one day away and it looks like we're gonna make it, thank you to everyone for supporting the project! Once we reach our deadline we'll be sending out the specifications for the photos (what DPI and aspect ratio, etc. etc.). We'll set a deadline to submit the self-portraits, probably in a few weeks for those of you who are taking brand spankin' new ones just for the book. And in keeping with the goal of 100 self portraits, we stil have about 35 slots left so if you know anyone who wants to hop on the bandwagon send them my way. Maybe we'll even do a shorter 100 Self-Portraits Round 2 while we compile the rest of the photos, what do you guys think? Also, I've been getting some questions about international shipping. International shipping will probably be about $5-$10 extra :[ sorry, but once we reach our deadline we'll be able to calculate more accurately the costs of shipping. And again, the more money we raise the better the quality of the book, so please keep spreading the word even though we've reached our goal. Thanks again guys, I hope you're all as excited for the book as I am!

    Earthquake Relief for Haiti

    Hey guys!

    Thank you all for your overwhelming support. This project has already gone further than we could have ever hoped and we're really excited to get started. Due to the huge success of the project, and with the recent earthquake disaster in Haiti, I'd like to donate all funds raised over $100 to the relief effort. I've chosen the organization AmeriCares due to their high ratings on CharityNavigator.org, although we may split the funds between a few different organizations.
