Thanks for your support, Matt!!! That boat you made looks amazing! Really, very cool. My original plan involved making a boat very similar to that one, but didn't know how safe it would be for a 90 day trip... :) It's great to see someone else interested in pedal propulsion on H20.

    Posted project update #1

You are all great and I truly thank you :)

Hello everyone out there in the Kickstarter-sphere,

    I'm a happy man today :)

Thank you all so much for your support with this project - though with only about 15 minutes left on the timer, I don't think the goal will be reached. This means a few things:

-None of you will be charged for your donation - Kickstarter is a kind of all-or-nuttin situation.
-I will STILL be going on the trip - and with a renewed sense of amazing support :)

Though the $ didn't go through, There are many names of you supporters that I didn't know prior to this trip. You all did such a wonderful thing offering me financial aid for the trip/project. Made me realize there is really a bit of interest in this something of mine.

As a thank you, you will all still get listed on my website www.onariver.com
    --------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to stay updated, you can of course log on to the website www.onariver.com, but also shoot me your email address and I'll add you to my mailing list!

AND if you want a special secret free gift (film about the project - ahem.) in probably about a year from now - shoot me your address
    --------------------------------------------------------------
    Thank you.
    Colin

Hi Colin, Good luck with your trip! You should look into sponsorships from small businesses and towns (ones that thrive on tourism) along the MS river. Giving them some good twitter/FB PR along the way if you like the towns or businesses that choose to support you. The press might also really love this idea... Make it happen.
