Posted project update #6Coney Island success!
Post CommentOne rainy weekend in May we had our big film shoot on Coney Island! The weather made the shoot rather cold and difficult, but with the money pledged to our Kickstarter campaign I was able to transport, house and feed a cast and crew of six people. Our budget also made obtaining requisite film permits possible, so thankfully we were able to film on the historic Coney Island boardwalk without hassle. I am happy to report that the twelve 100' rolls of widescreen 16mm film have been developed and telecined, and the footage looks fantastic! Thank you so much for your support of "Fiji Mermaid"- I literally wouldn't have been able to get this far without your help.
That means the film is probably 75% "in the can". And so I'm gearing up for the next shoot, a dream sequence filmed in studio at a local theater. There's one more brief underwater scene after that, then it's all post-production editing, animation, special effects and sound.
