    issue two

City Reader; issue two has been completed!

The second issue is featured and distributed through DRIFT: a magazine of west coast cultural production. The City Reader insertion focuses its attention on the building block and spatial prescriptions of the concrete sidewalk. A more detailed look at urban components and city parts offer a re-presentation through an introductory ongoing catalogue.

The publication will be released this month, January 2011!!

    Day 39

Starting today, I will be transforming the Adobe Books Parlor into an annex for the City Reader where I'll collect data from the 16th Street sidewalk. The storefront windows will house a desk and chair for "window sittings" and will encourage the reading of the city, dispatching materials for the first issue.

Stay tuned for upcoming events, with guest appearances!

    Day 23

Hello! The fundraising has reached its halfway point and the project has attained 61% funding! With this update, I want to introduce the contributors of the first issue.

Sarah Fontaine, Tammy Fortin, Peter Hyer, Robin Johnston, Kelly Lynn Jones, Alexis Petty, Molly Prentiss, Aimee Shapiro, Eric Slatkin, Joel Stillman, and Christine Wong Yap

Click on their names to get directed to their websites!

Also, Reading Conventions will be doing a window residency in partnership with Adobe Books Parlor (an exhibition venue in Adobe Books' Storefront Window). From August 9th - September 26th, I will be using the Storefront Window to spread the word about the project, make a sidewalk installation, and do window sittings (researching/drawing/writing about the sidewalk and facade).

More details will be available in the following week.
