    commented on a project

When I excitedly shared this with some folks, one of the responses I got was that it looked like two people "trying to presell a containerload of merch for the giant Chinese furniture manufacturer they're fronting for, Beijing Jiangshan Country Home Furniture Co, Ltd." And indeed, I see klinkokids on the homepage here: http://www.ominijj.com/. I have to admit, that never even crossed my mind, and it strikes me as pretty cynical, but it certainly made me wonder. Is klinko just some fully-owned subsidiary of some boring old company, or are you a small shop who just contracted out production? I don't know that I really care - $120 for a cool looking chair is great either way and it's on my list to buy even if the project doesn't meet it's goal - but if it's the former, this Kickstarter project starts to look a lot more like a slick PR campaign than a creative project. And that bums me out. Care to comment?
