Posted project update #9Late late late!
Post CommentWell, as you have likely noticed, I am running a little behind here on the thank you gifts. As such, I would like to apologize. I had thought that I would have been able to bang out the gifts a bit quicker than I can. In any case, that Manscaper//Sorry Savages calendar zine comic thing is now called Brothersister, and I just picked up those guys from the printer yesterday. Thus, the picture below.

The cover is by Benjamin Söderström, back cover by Peter Hodapp, with myself handling the weird colors on Peter's image. It's a pretty rad zine I think. Contributors who plunked down for that thank you gift will be getting these guys 2 months before they premiere at the Chicago Zine Fest!
Next week I am going to get the prints and button taken care of. After that, I'll be waiting on getting more copies of the Detrimental Information zine.
Some of the hold-up has to do with some of the original art being misplaced/trashed/stolen. But, we'll be getting that taken care of shortly here too.
I will have another update next week, with how it's all coming along. AND, I will start sending the gifts out as we get more of the art/comics/things from the contributors. Talk soon and thanks again for your patience!!

Posted project update #8post-mix
Post CommentJust wanted to check in -- we are working on getting all the other thank you gifts made and from there we will begin shipping stuff out! We did get Motherlover done in time for MIX so THANK YOU AGAIN!! Got it done just 2 days prior to the show! Some folks were able to pick up their copy of the book at the event, but don't worry if you weren't able to pick it up at MIX. We are going to get these guys sent out as quickly as we can. Some of the larger gifts will be taking little longer as there is more involved in getting the work made and all that jazz.
Below is a pic of what the printed article looks like. I'll be writing everyone again real soon!

Posted project update #7We made it!
Post CommentA huuuuuge thanks to everyone that pitched in and spread the word! This book should be making it to MIX 2011 and it is entirely thanks to all of you! In the coming weeks I will be contacting everyone and posting updates on when their gifts are heading out, when they get back from the printer, etc.
For those of you making your way to MIX, I will try to have as many of your thank you gifts available there for pick up as possible. The book itself should be ready. Some of the other thank you gifts will take some time yet. I will keep you posted. If you have any questions, please ask! Thanks again!!
best,
raighne

Posted project update #6Down to the wire: 7 hours left
Post CommentYep, 7 hours and counting to make this baby happen. We still need a little under 400$ to do just that. Thanks again to all the backers and everyone who has helped pass on info about this book. I think we can still make this happen, we are very very close. I will leave you with another John Holden video:
