Posted project update #8Recording, Part 0
Post CommentThe album would not be complete without prior contributions from these fantastic musicians:
- Augustin Magdinier (drums in 2006)
- Carlos Adames (percussion in 2008)
- Kirsten Jermé (cello in 2008)
- Marie Kuzniar (violin in 2009)
- Jeremy Kuzniar (drums and vibraphone in 2009)
- Glenn Asch (viola in 2010)
- Kaita Bliffert (vocals in 2010)
- Stuart Dove (guitar in 2011)
Yes, it's true. There are a few songs that have been in process since at least 2005! I'm grateful to finally bring these a step closer to the finish line.

Posted project update #7Recording, Part 2
Post CommentIt's been a busy time in Milwaukee! I've recorded flautist/saxophonist Aaron Gardner, percussionist Oumar Sagna, guitarist Doc Jeff Green, gymnosophist theremin player Bootz, vocalist Urban Empress, and banjo player/foot stomper Colin O'Brien. Wow! I'm excited to have all these talented musicians contributing to my project.
Stay tuned as I head back to Boston, MA to continue this exciting process!

Posted project update #6Recording, Part 1
I'm back in the Midwest, and I've taken advantage of this opportunity to record some local talent for my forthcoming album.
Armed with Avid Pro Tools 10, my portable recording rig (a Black Lion Audio modified Digi-002), and an assortment of microphones, I've crossed paths with expressive guitarist Matt Wilson, transcendental vocalist Jodi Westmore, and funky keyboardist Annan Lomotey. I am very excited to feature their talents on the record, and I know you'll be just as spellbound as I am by their contributions.
Along the way, my coat was briefly occupied by a cute kitty.
Stay tuned, as I have plans to record more Midwestern musicians in the coming week.

Posted project update #3We're past 50% funded!
Post CommentIt is an awesome feeling to know there are people who support my creative endeavors! I want to thank you for your continued support.
I anticipated pledges slowing down around the holidays. Now that we're heading into the home stretch, I want to encourage y'all to keep sharing about this project with your friends, family, and social circles. Talking points: tell people how you know about me and my musical contributions, and why you supported the project. Even better, tell them a dangerously funny story about me. Remind people that even a $1 pledge is appreciated, and that there are rewards for all backer levels. Please refer people to the easy-to-remember romanrocks.com address.
I hope you enjoyed my cover version of the Beatles'/George Harrison's Something. I'm also working on more exclusive songs for you Kickstarters, and I'll be posting them soon!
Happy New Year!
~Roman
