Posted project update #19Pics of the show
Here are pics of the show courtesy of our show photographer, Jeff Elstone. I wish I had more pre-show backstage pics, but there were cameras everywhere so I’m sure they’ll surface at some point.

Posted project update #18Backstage pass
Post CommentI apologize for not posting these pics earlier, this week has been beyond hectic. I want to thank everyone who came to the show, who sent me emails of support before and after the show and of course all the generous people who funded the project when they didn’t know me from a hole in the wall. Thank you!
I also want to thank my mom for running 9 big errands for me before the show. My models would have been barefoot and starving if it weren’t for her. And my experience would have been far less special if she hadn’t been there to share it with me.
More thank you’s later, right now I’m leaving you with some backstage pics of the models dressed in the looks, the dry run of the show and me instructing the models on how and when to walk (I think I scared them!).
Arleen, Laura and Silvia, it was so nice to finally meet you. I’m really happy you could make it to the show!

Posted project update #17What we sacrifice for fashion...
Post CommentI was supposed to be lounging on a Greek Island today, celebrating the marriage of two of my closest NY friends, Victoria and Elias. Sadly fashion week has no mercy and my show was scheduled 3 days after the wedding. At first I tried to convince myself that I could do both and come back from Greece a day before my show… but then reason and sanity set in and I realized I’d have to miss one of the two. While I’d love to be sipping ouzo in the warm volcanic sand, the truth is I couldn’t pass up the chance to show my work at NY fashion week. So here I am. Partly thanks to all of you. And ironically, partly thanks to Victoria and Elias.
To V&E: all my love and wishes of happiness, health and a long future together! Break a plate for me.

Posted project update #15The Stickers are here!
Post CommentI know… they’re vinyl, not very eco, and I’m putting them up in public spaces (shhh) but I only printed a few – 250 – and I think they’re great marketing for the show! And I love this new technology, even though my 5-year-old phone doesn’t take pictures and can’t read it, I’m hoping others will be less outdated than me!
The code can be read by most phones and redirects your phone’s browser directly to my blog, where I’ll post the invite to the show when it’s time. Download the reader here and scan away if you see one of these around New York City!
If any of you want me to send you some, just email me with your address and I’ll send them out.

Hey Tara,
Thanks again for making my NY Fashion Week dream come true! I ended up meeting a Lucky Magazine senior Editor who got me into two other shows--what a treat! BTW, I am taking your mother up on the spa offer in Montreal next time I am there!
I wrote a blurb about your show on my blog
