Posted project update #9We're checking the proofs and hope to begin printing next week
Dear Supporter,
Good news.
The Comic Torah is at the printer!
In fact, the printer has printed out a set of proofs which are simply delicious.
You can watch artist Sharon Rosenzweig ooh and ah over them in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch...
We’re going to take a couple of days to review the proofs for possible mistakes. If all looks well with these proofs, and if the printing goes according to schedule -- one month for printing, one month for shipping -- you should have have the books in hand by mid September.
Come Simchat Torah, you'll be dancing with the Comic Torah. We hope.
We never thought it would take this long, either!
We really appreciate your patience.
But we’re confident that we’ll be delivering you book that are worth the wait.
I’m excited to share with you the title pages of the book, depicting Sharon and Aaron diving into the Torah.

I'm not sure even God could have done it in 40 days if he had to deal with Chinese printers and shipping.
I've seen the first proofs and they are worth the wait.

"Where's the copy of The Comic Torah I paid for? It's been six weeks
since you got your funding. What's up? When will my book arrive

Here's the skinny:
Sharon and Aaron have been hard at work PERFECTING the book for publication, fixing small details, polishing jokes, adding headlines, and, most fun of all, preparing the pages that acknowledge you, our supporter, for your amazing work!
You can find the draft thank you pages below. And if we got your name wrong.... please, let us know!
We've also been looking at samples from printers. We're on the verge of making our choice. We hope to get our files to our chosen printer by the end of January.
After that, we'll be waiting with baited breath for our books to arrive.... which will take up to three months.
Sigh.
Such are the time frames of publishing. And as our supporter, you're a partner -- which makes you part of the publishing business as well.With flaming mountains of grattude we wish you a wonderful 2010.
