Posted project update #4Hooray! Goal Reached! We are 101% funded
Dear Backers,
All of us from the Sloan Street Community Garden thank you profoundly for this amazing outpouring of support from our friends, family, concerned citizens, and the Philadelphia gardening community. Since we've reached our goal, we will be going ahead with collecting the funds through amazon payments and sending out your rewards. We will collect your addresses, choices, and all that after our project end date of Oct. 30. Keep in mind that you can still edit or change your pledge before that date if you wish to request a reward that wasn't available earlier, or anything like that. If you have ideas for additional rewards, just let us know! Perhaps a set of 4 Chicobags?
It is also possible to keep pledging until the deadline. Since this website does take a commission, as does amazon payments, it wouldn't hurt to raise a little more so that we actually have $2500 or more for our project.
You've already done more than enough, but if you're eager to do more, perhaps you'd like to sign our online petition and leave a comment:

We are having a stakeholders meeting tomorrow and will let you know about the outcome as soon as we can. Keep an eye on our blog for updates and the Thank You we will post with all of your names at: http://sloanstcommunitygarden.wordpress.com/Thanks again for your amazing support - this is a beautiful day for Philadelphia gardens!
best regards,

Posted project update #2open garden on Saturday
Dear supporters,
Thanks to your fantastic generosity and hard work in publicizing our efforts, we are more than halfway there! I think we've gotten some momentum going, so we are optimistic about making it all the way to the finish line and beyond by Oct. 30th. Every little bit helps - we are happy to see that some other kickstarter users (not from Philadelphia!) have started supporting us, perhaps because we are now "popular this week" and are being featured on the "discover projects" part of this website. Help keep us popular by encouraging your friends and contacts to become supporters, even if they only contribute $5 or even less.
Word on the street is that we are working on a video, which should be up soon, so you can look forward to that.
Also, if you are curious about the garden or want to take your kids or pets for a walk this weekend, feel free to drop by on Saturday morning. We are taking part in University City District's block clean-up efforts and cleaning up the garden this Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9 am - 11:30 am. (Thank you to Pam Wells for signing us up!) The garden will be open and free for community use, including the grill and picnic tables, so come on by! We're at 326 N. Sloan St., between 39th & 40th, just north of Powelton Ave.Have a great rest of the week and thanks again for pushing us past 50%!
Best regards,
Julia & the gardeners -

Posted project update #1Thank you! We are 39% funded 6 days after our launch
Dear Backers,
Thank you for your amazing generosity and support. We are doing great, having raised $965 in under a week. We are 39% funded and are focusing now on spreading the word so we can raise that other 61%! Remember, you will not be charged unless we reach our goal.
We have sold out of some rewards and have just added an exciting new reward from gardener Trevor McElroy, who is a professional tour guide by trade. He has offered to give a 60 min. tour of Olde City, Philadelphia for groups of up to 4 people. Historic Philadelphia is an enchanting and inspiring place, so we are thrilled that Trevor is able to offer his knowledge and skills up to folks who plan to visit or perhaps have lived here for years without ever taking a tour.
As you can imagine, we are also busy working with community partners and the media to publicize our efforts and make our case. We'll be posting more updates as the Zoning Board Hearing date draws closer!
Thank you again, and have a great week!
