Out of the house and onto the lawn

Hey everyone, just wanted to let everyone know that we are moving right along. Due to weather and scheduling conflicts I would say that we are at LEAST 3 days behind, which isn't horrible but its certainly not optimal. I believe we can make some of that up in the next week or two and get our days back on schedule, but at least our page count is moving. We're a little over halfway done and recently finished up some long "talky" scenes as well as a LOT of the smaller interior stuff that eats up a 1/4 page or less but has to be filmed nonetheless. Its a drag to have to set up for those scenes but without them you would have a mess of big scenes that just... happen into each other. These small transitional scenes are VERY important, so we have to give em the respect they deserve.

This coming week we shoot the Counseling Group Scene and then... and then... We move on to the Outdoor stuff! I am VERY excited to move onto the backyard stuff. Shooting outdoors has a completely different set of problems but it is still more stimulating.. to me at least.

AND I get to smoke cigars while we shoot.. so FUCKING YAY!! :)

Allright, that's it for now but NEXT WEEK I will have the first ever pics of the Time Machine EXCLUSIVE to my Kickstarter supporters. Everyone else will have to wait for the film to come out. So.. lucky you !!

    Big Update Ya'all

Howdy folks. If you think I had forgotten about this page you are NUTS! We have been working our ass off all weekend and it took until now to get some time to share this weekend with you.

    SO.. how was it?

Freaking awesome! Friday was one of those days. I left for work late and completely forgot one of the actors costumes! That was bad. I had so many things on my to do list that it just slipped right through. Fortunately it wasn’t a great day for him to shoot anyways so he was actually very cool with re-scheduling. Yay

The rest of Friday’s shoot went VERY well. We started late because of some traffic problems but the footage we got was a lot funnier than I had planned. It was truly intended to be a transition scene and nothing more and it ended up being a good 3 or 4 laugh moments. We’re making a comedy.. EVERY laugh counts

Saturday was a tougher day than I had anticipated. Crystal Guerrero was nice enough to drive me all over town acquiring props, set decorations and food for Sundays shoot. Poor thing has the patience of a.. err.. patient thing. AND she is funny as Hell so it was fun.

Sunday we worked our asses off. We didnt get the first shot in the can until around 1 and the call time was 11:00 so you can see all the work that went into getting it going. Annette worked her butt of with makeup while John Mace and Justin got the set ready. It was an all hands on deck effort.

HOLY CRAP it was fun. We got some great footage and God bless my actors Eric Cepeda and Claudia Cabrerra for being such good sports. I worked their asses off but we had a LOT of fun and laughs while we did it and I hope they would work with me again. I’m a happy camper right now.

    Not bad at ALL!

So the first shooting day was this past Saturday and I gotta tell ya.. it was NOT bad at all. First days are usually a mess.. chaotic at best and a complete clusterfuck at worst. This one was none of those. It was smooth, orderly and relatively low stress. The actors and crew weren't stressed but I sure as Hell was. I had a nagging feeling that I was forgetting something ALL day but alas, everything was fine.

The actors were freaking amazing. I am still impressed at how well they got into character and gave us repeatable performances take after take. If they weren't as prepared and professional it could have been a LONG day . But in the end we were only about 45 minutes later than what I had predicted. So yeah.. We rocked it!

The first of the behind the scenes stuff will be posted later this week. I have a meeting with my costume Goddess Annette later at a local thrift store and plan on shooting some video of what we find. See you soon and thanks for your support!!

    Almost ready!

The table read kicked butt this weekend. Aside from some technical glitches we got through it quickly and succesfully. I felt all of the actors really start to get a good feel for the character and there was a good sense of enthusiasm building.

After Annette got all of the wardrobe recquirements lined up we took a lunch break and then headed out to see a possible location. Not too sure if I want to use it, but I am definitely glad we went.

The first day of shooting is this coming Saturday so what can I say?... Here we go!!

Stay tuned for more updates and on set pics.
