Posted project update #8Goodies coming soon!!!
Post CommentHello all you dear supporters of "Nothing Special" staring Karen Black and Barbara Bain! I am so pleased to tell you that we had a successful opening (with more to come) and have begun releasing the film to a few more outlets. AND we are sending out your thank you Dvd's, Blu-Rays, digital post cards, and signed Dvd's as fast as we can sign art, stuff the envelopes and input addresses!!
I hope you got to read our incredible write up in Huffington Post by Art Critic Mat Gleason who deems us a "small, Independent gem of a film," or the review in Variety that says "Julia Garcia Combs will have audiences rooting for Louise" or the incredible review by James Wegg in Rotten Tomatoes who examines with high praise so many details. But if not, you'll be getting to make up your own mind soon!
Thank you so much for all your support. You heard the call and you answered, and we hope you will enjoy our critically acclaimed film for many years to come. Please let us know how you liked it.
IF YOU HAVE CHANGED YOUR ADDRESS - PLEASE UPDATE US RIGHT AWAY, or some other person might decide to keep your hard won copy of our film, and we really want you to have it!
All our best,
Angela and everyone at Yellow Wallpaper Productions

Posted project update #7Premiere of "Nothing Special" !!!
Great news! We are premiering our film “Nothing Special” at the Laemmle Music Hall on11/11/11! We could not have done it without your support and we are all so delighted and thankful for your belief in our project!
We are playing for one week with a possible hold over if our opening weekend is successful, so please tell your friends and family to go on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 12 and 13. http://bit.ly/NothingSpecialRelease
Also, if you are a lucky ticket holder to our Premiere event, get out that black dress or fancy suit, Louie Garcia will be there in his furry tuxedo, licking the Red Carpet and anxiously awaiting his public!
If you donated towards the Premiere ticket, please RSVP to let us know you are coming, or if you are unable to attend and would like us to release your ticket to another lucky recipient, let us know that too! Look forward to your DVD’s and other thank you gifts for your generous support of our film and thanks from the bottom of our exhausted hearts!

Post Comment... last chance for your friends and family to own a DVD, signed by the Director of "Nothing Special"

Yay Steve! I knew someone would comment on the reference! I love the term "Blue Roses" because they don't exist in nature, they have to be created by humans. When the boy in "The Glass Menagerie" hears Blue Roses instead of Pleurosis, he is choosing to create and believe in something beautiful and impossible, he doesn't even consider the debilitating possibility. That is the underpinning of the dramatic action in our film "Nothing Special" - believing in something beautiful and seemingly impossible.

Posted project update #5Plop, plop, fizz, fizz...
... oh what a relief it is! We are there! Over the top! Past the finish line! But we still have very inexpensive DVD's for offer on the pledge, with 13 hours to go, tell your friends...
Thanks everyone for pledging, spreading the word and generally rallying around this project. I know you will be glad you did, and I can't wait to thank you in person if possible, and meet you on our travels with this film and hear about your reactions to the story when you see it. Your generosity has been beyond inspiring!
Best wishes, Angela
