    Fundraiser Successful!

At this point this is mostly a repost, but I'd just like to say that I am floored, True Bowlievers. Thanks to you my Kickstarter raised $3,784 to fund my band’s budget for SXSW and a lot of equipment we’ll be using to continue performing beyond it. To my faithful backers, you are all awesome and deserve medals. I will be mailing out commission request forms ASAP and hopefully will take care of all the video commissions, jingle commissions, and autographed CD’s in the next week.

Again, I can’t stress enough how amazed I am that this fundraiser made such a successful pull. Without this money we could never have dreamed of bringing so many talented people from so many different parts of the country together on a whim like this. Thanks to all of you for your support.

    Shows, Shirts, SXSW

It's all coming together - in just a few hours we'll be playing the first show we've ever done together for an audience of fans. I'd just like to say thank you to everyone for all your help - the expenses to make this happen have been wide and many, and we're incredibly grateful knowing that your pledges are paying for the supplies it will take to make this event happen. Here's looking forward to this and SXSW!

A couple of other things: I'll be getting back to commissions during the break between rehearsal periods - I'm going to set my goal at one new song per day. There's 7 days left to make pledges to this project so if you feel like raising your pledge for a longer song or you know anyone who would be interested in a signed copy of Ithaca on CD you've got just a week to join in on the process.

Also, the "thank you" list goes on far longer than I could have ever expected, so instead of simply listing your names during "How Do I Live", which now seems like an unfeasible task, I'm proud to announce that I'll be putting the names of all the donors on the official Bowman shirts which I'll be putting together next week. The popular suggestion seems to be putting my head on it, so we'll look into creating that design soon!

    Copyright Clarification

Hey all, just want to make sure people understand that I cannot accept requests to create Homestuck-related commissions. Andrew Hussie is the exclusive rights-holder to Homestuck, and he has outlined a pretty firm policy on Homestuck commissions here. I'm also going to have to say that any commissions derived specifically from copyrighted work is off-limits too (aside from projects of your own, you can still have me do a theme for your web series, etc).

    Free Concert!

I'm already exhausted from adding this to every social media outlet I'm a member of, but I'll be hosting a free concert along with the rest of the band on February 25 in Austin TX. Here's the poster:

This is going to be the first concert that my band performs together and will be a good preview of what we'll be doing at SXSW in March. If you're a Homestuck fan you should definitely show up in costume.

    Facebook event is here: http://www.facebook.com/events/260436494029882/

The location is T.B.A. Please RSVP so I can send you the address week-of. If you don't have Facebook you can always message me via Kickstarter. I am PUMPED.

Also, here's a new commission about Marching Band requested by Mason Herschberg:

Commissions are happening as we speak

For those who haven't been checking their email or who might be wondering if the commissions have come to fruition, I must first ask why you aren't following me on Tumblr or Twitter or some other social network. Then I must happily inform you that I've started on commissions for you incredibly faithful donors.

First, here's a jingle I made for Connor Norris for an untitled web series he wants to create in the future. The jingle is called "Conro Corp Anthem" and goes a little something like this:

And here's another one - it's a short song based commissioned by Jeremy Geist based on an astoundingly warped session of Hunter: The Vigil he's been playing with his friends who seem to enjoy ridiculous 80's rock music and action shows. It's called "Explosion Force (They Do It Right)" and behold, it is glorious:

Anyway, expect more music both charming and ridiculous. I love all of your insane requests, and while it's tiring work crunching out all these new songs, it's a pleasure knowing I'm doing work for such generous donors. Be sure to look out for all the new tracks on my Soundcloud profile and a selection of tracks on Commissions Vol. 1, a compilation I'll be deploying on my Bandcamp store hopefully in March.

    100%

Crikey! When I proposed that we raise funds for the numerous expenses this concert event would incur, I never imagined that we'd be able to put together so many pledges in such a short span of time. I thought it would take weeks if not months to get all the money together, but you kind people who have donated have me floored. In just two weeks we have raised the full $3000 it will take to make this project happen, covering expenses for everything from travel to food to equipment and everything else that would surely make this endeavor an otherwise unthinkable hurdle.

I must give thanks to those who have helped us close the gap of 100% funding since my last update including Andy Vaughn, Christina Lillard, Chris Gamble, Wilysubversionist, Chloe, Amy Burton, Tim Martin, Elizabeth Erickson, Megan Rochelle Rudy, Daniel Wally, Diana Vennet, Mitchel T. McDonald, Alex Pollock, Jeanette Frost, Gabriel Berthelot, Will Geier, Vladimir Plaxinov, Jesse, Brad Griffin, Jennifer Maddux, and Suga Tsuji. You have been all instrumental in making this concert happen and I cannot thank you enough!

As a token of my appreciation for achieving 100% funding, I will be getting a head-start on all your commissioned songs and videos as well as sending out requests for mailing addresses and all that. Expect messages from me personally via Kickstarter! Your pledges will soon be honored with all sorts of sweet tunes, videos, CD's, postcards, and burger dates!

Because the time frame for this fundraiser is set so that funds will be collected on March 3, there's still plenty of time left for others to donate, so keep spreading the word about our drive for funds. All funds collected will be used for purposes relating to this concert, and that any extra funds collected beyond our stated goal of $3000 will not be wasted.

Also, expect an announcement soon on when our various shows, free and otherwise, will be happening leading up to SXSW. We'll be sure to host a big bash for anyone who can make it into town. Thanks again so much and we hope we can get to rewarding your pledges soon!

    Closing the gap!

Only 1/6 of the way left to go! That's right, thanks to donors Ian Weller, Brad Aldridge, David Tersegno, someone apparently claiming to be Ash Ketchum, Decian Zhang, Kalen Boley, James "Captain" Faulconbridge, Steffanee Caiola, Laura, Alex C, Cari "MiX" Garafalo, Sigurd B. Stenseth, Ben Stark, Jerish Brown, and Scott Inglis, this project is now 87% funded!

A special thanks to Cari Garafalo whose MSPA style suggestion-based adventure comic End of Infinity will now be receiving the star treatment. In exchange for her $400 donation she'll be commissioning an EP of electro-swing music to be used in upcoming animations in upcoming End of Infinity updates! Sweet deal, bro.

There have also been 14 individual song commissions of various lengths, adding up to roughly 24 minutes of song commissions as of yet. Nicely done! Currently I'm coming up with an artwork scheme for a commissions compilation to be put up on the Bandcamp.

This is it folks - we're almost there! We only need to raise another $400 before we can secure funding on this project and start the long process of accepting commissions. Speaking on behalf of all the musicians on this project whose long commutes your pledges will be reimbursing, thank you so much for your overwhelming support and we hope we can make both this concert and the numerous commissions resulting from this fundraiser worth your time!

Maybe I should just have everyone write how their name is enunciated on the forms that ask for their prize request.
