    Signing Off

    Hello wonderful Kickstarter backers!

Thank you again for your support and for your patience. I am happy to report that at long last today I sent off the last of the backer rewards! I hope everyone enjoys their membership cards, photos & posters. If you haven't received your reward by the beginning of next week (or a little longer if you live in another country), you can email me at heyprojectneon at gmail, and I'll see if I can figure out what happened.

Since this is the official end of the Kickstarter campaign, I won't be posting updates here anymore, but the project will continue and there are various ways you can keep up with neon goings on:

    BLOG
More or less weekly I post about a visit to one of New York's neoned establishments on projectneon.tumblr.com, and you can follow it on Tumblr or subscribe. This is Project Neon headquarters. The links at the top of the home page will tell you all you need to know and more.

    FLICKR
The project started as a simple Flickr set, and you can see all the photos there. Follow along either by adding me as a Flickr contact or subscribing to the RSS feed for the set. (Not all the Flickr photos end up making it to the blog or the app, so this is where to see smaller signs and all the many photos of my favorites.)

    TWITTER
I post sporadically on Twitter as @heyprojectneon.

    EMAIL LIST
I've set up an email list at TinyLetter.com/projectneon. If you're already following the blog or Twitter, you probably don't need to sign up here, but I will post any big news there, and it will be sent out to subscribers by email.

    APP
I will continue to update the database for the app, adding (and sadly deleting) signs as needed, and adding release updates periodically (one is waiting in the Apple queue to solve some stability issues).

If you're in New York, please visit the show at the City Reliquary Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 6p, and it looks like I'll be giving a talk about neon on the Upper West Side in early December--details to follow via the above channels. If you have questions, comments, or suggestions about the project, you can email me at heyprojectneon at gmail, but please keep in mind that this whole project is just me in my spare time, so I'm not always able to respond with alacrity, though I do my best and appreciate tips about signs I've missed (especially if you've searched the Flickr set to make sure I don't already have it!), stories about signs you love, and general feedback about the project.

    THANK YOU!

    Your neonographer,
    Kirsten

At least a couple of months--there isn't a set end date yet. I'll let you know as soon as I hear more.

The Project Neon iPhone App is Live!

Yes, it's true! You can now download the Project Neon app from the iTunes store. I'm so excited! Exhausted, but excited. I've also made a page on the blog with a little more information.

This would *never* have been possible without the support of every single one of you. Thank you!

Don't forget that the Project Neon show at the City Reliquary opens tomorrow night. Please come if you're in NYC, and please introduce yourself. I hope to see you there!

    Glowingly,
    Kirsten

    Big News!

    Hello Kickstarter Backers,

Some big news--the Project Neon iPhone app is being submitted to Apple as well speak. I am very excited! It couldn't have happened without you. Thank you!

More big news: the Project Neon photo show will open at the wonderful City Reliquary on Friday September 23rd from 7p - 9p. It's located at 370 Metropolitan Avenue (near Havemeyer Street). If you're in New York City, please come! And if all goes well with the Apple approval process, the app will be available then to download.

I'm also getting very close to finishing the rewards fulfillment for backers. There are a few I've had trouble with, sometimes because people didn't answer the survey completely, sometimes just for technical difficulty reasons, so I will be contacting those people over the next couple of weeks to work things out, as well as sending out the last few posters & prints. Thank you for your patience--when I started this process I had no idea how much work every step would be, but it's been really fun to send neon photos off to destinations all over the world. I hope you enjoy them!

Hi Ana. Yes! I'm sorry for the radio silence--I've been working away (tonight I assembled a bunch of vest pocket neon guides!), but it's been so rainy the last few days I didn't want to take anything in to the post office. Hopefully towards the end of the week I'll be able to take a big batch in.
