Posted project update #9On the road...
we did it, we are on the road... and we couldn't have done it with out YOU!!! we had a great time out at the Electric Forest Festival. lot's of great shows, 2 cars crushed, super set up and break down help from the union stage hands, and awesome feed back from the crowd! who could ask for more?
The bus is running great - we launched this campaign to help pay for THIS bus because it's got an installed veggie oil system but the system is not quite in functioning order yet. If you know anyone who knows grease, please put them in touch with us as we hope to have this system up and running soon... in the meantime we are putting as much bio-diesel in as possible! we are settling in and making it our little home on the road.
we have confirmed with the Carnigie Science Center, we're going to Pittsburgh! some of you may remember that we tried unsuccessfully to do this last year so we're excited that this goal is going to come to fruition.
The rewards -
some of you have recieved your surveys, these gifts will make their way to you soon! The fabulous Esmerelda Strange is working tirelessly on finishing up the mastering of the CD and figuring out the best way for you to access the downloads before they are available to the general public. The songs are great, you'll recognize them from the show and you are sure to be humming the catchy tunes for days.
we will send out the surveys as the rewards are ready to go in the mail - we are waiting for posters to go to print and for photos to be printed out...
we would like to thank you again for making an investment in a project with a big bright future

Post CommentActually - YOU did it!
boy was that a nail biter, we watched those last minute pledges roll in and we thought we were at the horse races!
now what you ask? Well it's just non-stop around here... we finish loading up our gear and pull out of the NIMBY lot around 1:30 this afternoon!
Speaking of NIMBY- Super Dave & Snook have been just amazing, helping us with all things bus and kickstarter related - from hooking up the propane to posting to making sure we eat!
please check out how they support big art at NIMBY
http://www.nimbyspace.org/about/
A SUPER BIG THANK YOU to all of our friends who spent countless hours posting on facebook to help spread the word. we love you!
We will be getting to the thank you rewards over the next few weeks - the music downloads will be available soon and the donated items will make their way to you...
we are on the road as of this afternoon and we're straight in to set up for the Electric Forest Music Festival, our first down time is after the 4th of july - so we'll be working on getting stuff to you then, we hope you will be patient with us as being on the road can be challenging.
Our goal for this year is to create financial sustainability so that we never, ever, have to do another Kickstarter! Our show season this year is exciting and filled with lots of diverse venues and events and we hope to turn this in to something REALLY big... down the road you can look back and say "I MADE THAT POSSIBLE"
we truly believe in what we are doing and that there is a greater value for society in it, you have proved to us that you believe in bringing Science & Engineering, Live Performance, Bio-Fuels, and the Art of Play to people across this land of ours.
You can follow our adventures at facebook - lifesize mousetrap
or twitter by following lfsz_mousetrap
please check our website in the next few days for a full schedule update of where we'll be this summer/fall.

Post Commentthis is a special note to those of you who supported us in our 2010 fundraising drive- we couldn't have made it with out you! really - our trailer would still be stuck in the mud in Queens...
We have launched another kickstarter to help us out with another season which promises to be bigger and better than ever before. We have JUST 18 HOURS to reach this years' goal.

Posted project update #7more bus build & the LAST FULL DAY
Post Commenttoday we got the interior of our little home on wheels most of the way ready for everyone to "move in" tomorrow.
kitchen - DONE - except for the water heater that turned out to be defunct, but with a new one running about $275 we'll make do with cold water...
bunks - foamed - with some help from Fabric Outlet on mission st., thanks for the discount!
plywood - primed...
stereo - now working thanks to super dave at nimby, who really has earned his nickname! we brought the guys at NIMBY a little thank you gift from Dianda's Italian bakery today, they hjave been really helpful.
as of now the veggie oil conversion is not fully functional - we are hoping to get it up and running once we're on the road but won't be able to afford the needed parts with out this kickstarter money... which brings us to...
THE LAST FULL DAY of our drive here at kickstarter. we still have quite a ways to go but we won't give up just yet, if we were the kind of folks who just give up, we certainly wouldn't have made it this far.
please take this last day to spread the word far and wide - some of you already have, we can't say thank you enough! this is the only way we are going to reach our goal. thank you for believing in this "crazy man's dream"...
we've posted pics of our bus and the work we've put in to it as well as a pic of Mark's jacket that can be yours when you pledge $600(it's quite easy to increase your pledge by the way...) Its an incredible west point cadets' tails from 1922! own this piece of mousetrap history...
we are so excited to see you all at our shows this summer!
here's where we'll be...

He is spending the day hard at work to make sure our bus is up and running for our departure on Monday morning, which happens to coincide with the deadline for our kickstarter! and no, we didn't actually plan it that way... So send us off right!
we'd like to share some pictures with you,
here's the bus build that's happening as you are reading this, & long view of the bus
