    blog

    Hello Backers!

As promised, we now have a blog! Check it out and see process entries, short story drafts, photographs, cool links relating to wind energy development, photographs, recordings of the oral histories, and other awesome things we stumble on. It's still in the development stages, but over the weekend and into next week, we'll keep adding!

    the show goes on!

    Hello wonderful Backers,

Last week Turbines + Transmission reached our goal and has been fully funded. Thanks to your support and generosity, all 1,750 needed for the project was raised. The show started as a idea tossed around over a cup of coffee and has grown into a communal performance, the beginnings of which we now see.

With the project funded, Kim and I can now move forward in production design and planning. The performance art show is set to feature three pieces--a stop animation film, short story, and original composition--along with space for discussion. We predict that the show will run an hour. As of now, we have four tentative performances--Junction, Muleshoe, Nazareth, and Lubbock and will send updates as soon as we have confirmed dates and times. We are also in the process of launching a blog that will feature project updates, process entries, performance pieces, video footage, and oral histories from the Southwest/Special Collection wind energy oral history project. The blog should launch by the end of this week, and I will send an update as soon as we have everything up and running.

I cannot say this enough--thank you for your kindness. It is a blessing be part of a community willing to encourage creative thinking and art as a means of grappling with societal developments, problems, and issues.

All the best to each of you,

    Laura
