I honestly think that one thing that would really help this campaign is a pitch video that is better paced any more exciting. One thing that the DoubleFine kickstarter had going for it was a really entertaining pitch video. But the one for this SpaceVenture seems to really lose its energy part way through. Scott and Mark sound very monotone when they talk. And the voice actors, while impressive, take way too long to get to the point. Also I think John Patrick Lowrie plugging his book really derailed the thing. See if you can cut the pitch video down to about half its current length and add more energy to it. I expect a lot of people leave the project page before the video is done playing. Same thing goes for the conversations you want the backers to listen to before the prototypes. Way too long and not enough energy or substance. Get to the point and make it fun! I liked the video of Scott and Mark meeting at the airport though. That's more the sort of thing that entertain people and get them excited. I don't mean to be difficult, just trying to be helpful. I really want this project to succeed.

Interesting! I like the sound of the idea. I love Tim Schaeffer's humor. I loved Psychonauts and Day of the Tentacle largely because of the humor. I even love the Kickstarter videos including the video where Tim was explaining how overseas backers could contribute and his friend was fake-translating it into German. I know the final product will be well worth playing for this reason alone. I also agree that story and characters are a big thing in adventure games. "The Longest Journey" wasn't really funny for the most part, and the gameplay itself was pretty dull. But I still enjoyed the game because I was fascinated by the story.

As a concept preview, that was pretty cool. But I don't think I'd be happy if the final version was an HTML5 chrome app.
