commented on a projectI've been consulting with arts organizations all over the U.S. and abroad for over 30 years now, and I haven't seen as much entrepreneurial spirit among a group of performing artists anywhere else for a very long timek. I *know* that nobody but the organizers themselves really understands how much caring, creativity, community spirit and sheer person-hours are being invested in The Fishtank -- all absolutely without compensation. Not only are they not paid, the artists themselves are contributing more than any other single contributor, no matter how generous -- both in-kind and in cash. (And if you have the capacity to change that, please step up!) Their commitment to access means that no one is asked to pay more than $5, and even that is a donation. And more often than not, it's the artists themselves who are providing that free beer and wine! That's why YOUR contribution, dear reader, is so very important: be as generous as you can! But at least put something -- even the minimum $5 -- back into the mix: these artist-organizers need to feel our support for all they're doing!
