commented on a projectThis may be unduely suspicious but just note that after the comment that he spent $3000+ to repair his car he then says he dumped it. I wonder if any of the project funding went to replace the car???

commented on a projectIn response to JeromeJello, who asked for info re AG contact in Mass. You can fill a complaint on line. However, mine was handled by Allyson Fiorello of the AG's Public Inquiry & Assistance Center. Her number is (617) 963-2478. I have suggested to her that the different complaints that have been filed with the AG's office be coordinated and that they should look into fraud and conversion charges. I am pleased to see so many who were as shocked as I to find that there were not only a few minor misappropriations of money but gross ones. Plus just the idea of this guy sitting around while waiting on work to be done by others over the months and living off the funds made available for the project is repulsive. I think his public image needs to be updated by communication to "Hack Manhattan" see Aaron L'Heureux comment a little further down on this list for the NY library workshow addresses. This not "chump" change. Well over 60% of the funds spent by Mr. Towne are for expenses not related to producing the lock-picks we pre-ordered.

commented on a projectWell, I received a refund! It was facilitated by the Office of the Attorney General in Massachusetts. Part of the agreement was that he was provide "... a letter documenting Mr. Townes's use of funds and the production of the product." There was a note with the refund check from Schuyler in which he says "On February 1 I will update the blog for my Kickstarter project with a rundown of how maney was spent over the course of this project."

commented on a projectI have filed a consumer complaint with the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Protection regarding my concerns about the use of the money for this project, the lack of responsiveness of Mr. Towne, his further sale of this product (which is not yet avaiable) and his comments on other websites about new projects that he is undertaking before bringing this one to completion.
