Posted project update #10Back on the horse again...
Greetings from Puntarenas, Costa Rica! I've absconded with the $10,000 and bought myself a little shanty with an ocean view....JUST KIDDING!!
Hello friends and backers, just wanted to say hello and a belated Happy New Year and give you an update on the goings-on with my CD project. After the run of the 40 day kickstarter campaign I have to admit I was pretty burned out and through the holidays just took a bit of a respite.
Now, Jon Jon (my co-producer/engineer) and I have met up several times, trying out new songs (yes, I'm excited to still be delivering new ones!), polishing up older ones, and planning a strategy on how to best go about recording this CD. We're in "pre-production", as they say, and I've never really done this before so it's a bit of an adventure - what I'm learning is that it's really important to get a really good drummer on board for your recording, so that's what we're working on right now -- finding the right guy who can work at the right price and at the right time. And then I'm planning on recording all the songs live with a drummer and bass and then overdubbing the rest of the instruments. Our goal is to get the bulk of the recording done by mid-late February...so stay tuned, hopefully I'll have some tracks to share with you not too long from now...
I'm also seeking out a designer to help with the t-shirt design so stay tuned for that too - I'll be emailing all of you who ordered t's soon a request for your size and other specifics. And I will be contacting people for astrological readings as well, probably after this month when all the preproduction and recording dies down.
Other then that, I'd just like to thank you all again for a taking a chance with me and my music. it really was a watershed moment in my life, getting so much support for me to pursue my dreams. Now I hope to do you guys justice!!
And lastly, I don't know if you know this, but I'm a native New Yorker, so what I'd like to leave you with as the Super Bowl approaches is: GO GIANTS!!

Posted project update #9THANK YOU ALL - WE DID IT!!!
It was right down to the wire - we made it with 32 minutes to go and $38 to spare!! The last few hours, when the pledges were flying in and the project took on a life of its' own, were the most fun I've had since my first time riding Space Mountain in Disney World as a kid!!
So I just want to thank you all again for your generous support!! 142 people backed the project and many of you (you know who you are) pledged two and even three times!! Being the recipient of such support and generosity has left me a bit dumbfounded. I feel like each pledge you made opened my heart just a little more and challenged and changed my belief in being able to trust, and ask for and receive support from others."AHH HUMANITY!!"
It also opened my eyes more to the importance of being on the giving end as well - I ended up supporting three other kickstarter projects during this 40 day period and hope to continue helping other artists pursue their dreams down the line.
And finally, it illustrated the power of what is possible people come together and pool their resources to achieve a goal -- with everyone contributing whatever they're able to, it's amazing what can be done!! I look forward to seeing how this trend continues to develop and to continue being a part of it!
So in the new year I will begin work on my FIRST FULL LENGTH ALBUM -- which without you could not have been possible!! I will be keeping you up to date on the developments with that, as well as corresponding with you about getting you your rewards at that time as well. Outside of that, I need to catch up on some sleep, and want to wish you all a wonderful holiday season -- and thank you all for making my Christmas come early this year!!

Posted project update #82 HOURS, $476 TO GO!! BRING IT ON, PEOPLE!!
Post CommentWow, the $1500 match pledge has come through and the $325 has been added from the fundraiser (which went great!!), so we're only $476 away!! Thank you all for your support, we're almost there! I'm blown away, 125+ backers! It's my hope that with these numbers, we're simply TOO BIG TO FAIL!! We've made it past that marathoner's wall, now all that's needed is that one last PUSH towards the finish line. We just simply could not have come this far not to make it!! Again, I thank you all for your support and generosity, your support has simply BLOWN MY MIND!! Numbers of you have increased your pledges, and others have been spreading the word and bringing others in (to the fold!) Now just one last round of generosity on your part and we will have made it.

Posted project update #7SO CLOSE to the GOAL and ONLY 14 HOURS TO GO!!
We had a great FUNdraiser tonight, raised $325 plus more pledges, which brings us (once the money is added to kickstarter) $137.50 away from meeting the amount we need to get the $1500 matching pledge! Then we'd be only $698 away from the meeting the final goal of $10,000! So 137.50 + 698 = $835.50 needed to raise in the next 14 hours. Please continue spreading the word, and those of you who've upped your pledges, thank you so much!! And those of you who can, please do!! OK time for some sleep!!

Post CommentWe've still got a ways to go! And will be celebrating this effort, regardless of final outcome, at our miracle-invoking full moon dance + music fundraiser celebration tonight! Please come on by if you're free and local - and if not, please spread the word. We need to raise around $700 more to get the $1500 matching grant, and then $500 more on top of that. So we need to raise $1200 to get the $2700 to bring us to $10,000. Thank you for all your support and I'm hoping and praying we can find a way to reach the goal!!

Posted project update #5Can We Raise $3200 in 38 hours?/Listen to New Songs off CD!
Hello Backers and Friends (aka the "Kickstarter Body Electric")
It is officially CRUNCH TIME!! We have come so far thanks to the generosity of so many (108 people) but I feel like we're at that proverbial "marathoner's wall" at around mile 23 or 24 of 26 where the runner has to dig way deep inside himself in order to push on through to make it to the finish line. In this instance, the runner is a collective body made up of all of us who've committed our resources and/or efforts and energy towards seeing this project to completion. What is needed now is a FINAL PUSH, which means spreading the word of this project thru social media, email and word of mouth, as well as if you had considered upping your pledge at some point - giving a little more - now is the time to do it!
On our side we have a "matching grant" of sorts by a generous backer, which means if we're able to raise $1200 more (originally it was $1500) then that $1500 will be backed dollar for dollar - bringing in a total of $3000, which would bring us very close to our goal. And, we're throwing a last-minute fundraiser dance concert celebration tonight at Yoga Mountain, Friday, 8-10pm, 85 Bolinas Rd. in Fairfax. There will be a $15-20 suggested donation at the door, which gets you a ticket for a raffle of "cool stuff" and services. I will be sharing some songs from my upcoming CD that we're funding here and DJ'ing a set of my favorite tunes for you dancers out there!!
Lastly, I'd like to leave you with 2 (unfinished) tracks of fresh "Heart Rock" music from the upcoming CD we're funding here - "Do I Have to Be So Good" and 'Make You Feel Good" - I hope as you listen to them you'll get as excited as I did recording them - the immediacy and chemistry that I had working with engineer/producer Jon Jon - how these songs just came together so quickly- is what ignited me to do this kickstarter so I could raise funds to do an entire album and do it right!!
Thank you all so much, I really am moved beyond words by your generosity and support thus far, and with a final push now I am praying we'll make it to our goal and make this project a funded reality. So please, spread the word, give a little more if you can, and come on by tonight if you can and celebrate!!
