Posted project update #4Trilby Campaign just ended
Post CommentTo all who helped us get this project out again, thank-you.
The Disc charted 4 times, and was Chartbound another 4 times. We peaked at #25, and also went #33, #45 and #49.
More importantly, with an indy self-produced release, we played every major market. WNTU (Dallas) has spinned us over 100 times. We also had some impact abroad, in the Australian and New Zealand markets, as well in London and Capetown, South Africa.
We also have received some worthy review from Scott Yanow (LA Times), The Jazz Insider, All About Jazz NY-Jack Bowers(Who has us as one of the best Big Band discs recorded this season) and soon the All Music Guide.
We plan a couple of more recordings in the next couple of years. The next one will feature Lindsey Holland singing Men and Women of Song from the American Songbook. It will be her first recording, and she is up for it. Her phrasing is simply beautiful and swingin'.
The next will be a tribute to either Bill Evans or Bob Brookmeyer, or something along that line. Bill Dobbins and I are still working the particulars.
This was the first time I used a promoter, and the feedback was positive. His name is Michael Carlson (MC Pro). He wants to work with us again, and likes the direction we're taking. He has got us on DMX Radio and soon the Music Choice Channels. He's great to work with, and in his years of experience, he has let a lot of key people know about our band and vision.
This is a great band BTW, the people who participate are top notch musicians, who 'love' making music. A Special Thanks to Evan and Bill Dobbins for seeing this mission through. Rich Thompson for his fabulous R-Section contribution, and all the members for playing so well to help make Trilby a success.

Posted project update #3Trilby #33 on Jazz Weekly
Post CommentHi everyone, just an update. Trilby reached #33 in this week's Jazz Weekly's worldwide poll.
Furthermore, the promoter wants us to do another soon, and feature Lindsey singing in front of us. He thinks we have a top 10 combination! Exciting music is brewing!
Many thanks to everyone, this disc may still go a little higher, the hits and feedback have been very positive. This would not have happened without your support!
Let's chalk one up for the Little guys!

Let me know if anyone did not receive a Cd. I'll get it out asap. Think I got everyone covered, but just in case! Thank-you.. Rick
