Thanks to you--we've topped our goal!

Thank you Backers!  This afternoon we have topped our goal so we know for sure that Solitaire For Two will be produced.  We will attempt to hurry up the production run and get the game to you, if possible, as early as mid to late July!  We were very pleased to see a thread on BGG today which suggests that it might be possible to use the wonderful tiles you will get in your copy of Solitaire For Two for other games as well.  If you missed that thread, here it is:

    http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/807657/other-great-games-to-play-with-these-great-tiles

Now that 142 (our "code name" for this game) will be a reality, please be sure to tell your friends and family about this Kickstarter opportunity so that they can obtain a copy of this game, and the iPad app, and the tiles racks, etc.

We really appreciate your support of Solitaire For Two.  Many thanks!

Another Review for Solitaire for Two

Solitaire for Two -- a review by Steve Ellis, owner of Rainy Day Games, a wonderful games shop in Aloha, Oregon (just outside Portland).

Solitaire for Two is a clever reinvention of a classic.  This game is essentially six suit solitaire with finely crafted tiles instead of cards.  Players also get a unique scoring system for both solitaire and competitive play for two player games.  This leads to an addictive game that surpasses all of the solitaire variants that I've tried over the years.  In addition, there's just something about the tactile sensation of playing a game with these tiles...something that cards or an ipad just don't seem to capture.  And the best part is that the game comes with a small box inside the outer packaging so transporting your tiles camping or wherever isn't problematic at all.  I think it would be a wonderful gift for anyone that has ever enjoyed a game of solitaire.

You know, my Mom lives alone, and after reading this update, I realized that she would probably enjoy some time with this game. Upped my pledge to 2 games and thanks for the suggestion!

Hi Chris (Part 2): Following the Ender's Game review on BGG, cited on our front page here, you will find that a number of responders have made suggestions as to other games that can be played with the tiles from Solitaire for Two, including: Lost Cities; Schotten Totten; and virtually any card game at all that can be played by a RAGE deck!. This list will likely be added to over time. Check it out.

@Chris- You can play pretty much any game that requires a standard 52 card deck, from Poker, to Gin, to Spider Solitaire, to Crazy 8s, the list goes on. :)

    A New Review

    Hello-

Today was a big day for Solitaire for Two!  The great Ender Wiggins posted a Comprehensive Pictorial Overview of the game at Board Game Geek.  If you haven't already read it, the link is provided below.  Ender's reviews always do an excellent job of showing all the game components as well as providing insightful commentary.

    $30K Stretch Goal

    Hello Everyone-

First off I'd like to give you a all a big "Thank You!" for your continued support of Defenders of the Realm: Battlefields!!  The success this campaign has had is great and is very much appreciated.

As we move towards reaching the $20K stretch goal, I'd like to update you all on what the next stretch goal will be.  The next stretch goal will include another new battlefield AND a new Hero General.

The new battlefield will be McCorm Highland!  As for the new general, well I have to keep that a secret for now.  It isn't 100% finalized which hero will get the promotion, but I will let you all know very soon.

Thank you again for your support!

So the big shiny new exciting stretch goal is.... exactly the same as the last stretch goal. Another battlefield and another recycled hero from the regular DotR game as a general. :(

Will this goal add another pre-painted figure to the general level pledge?

Thanks for the support John. I think you will be pleased to hear that this game comes with an inner box that exactly holds the tiles and should be perfect to travel with (you may want to put a large rubber band around it as well for double protection). The box is just big enough to hold the 81 tiles--thus 4.75" by 3.5" by 1.5". You could also "creatively alter" the rail to fit into this box; add a few suitably "reduced in size" scoresheets and you are off and traveling with this game!
