Posted project update #12Ben Eine is back on The Wall!
Post CommentOne of our favourite street artists Ben Eine has been painting our wall again. This piece was done in conjunction with Up My Street a new exhibition by Shelter which features donated artwork by Jake and Dinos Chapman, Antony Gormley, Peter Saville and Grayson Perry.
Progress report
Ben Eine's piece could well be one of the last pieces to not be savoured. On Monday the manufactures of our steel and glass wall frames are paying a site visit. And our prints and postcards are being printed lithographically as we speak.
To this end we will be sending out the surveys of the next few days - which in some cases will be specific to the reward. If you hear nothing by Monday then drop me a message or leave a comment.
Have wonderful weekends.

Posted project update #10Just 10 hours to go (and we're on 96%!)
What an incredible weekend!
We've seen an awesome final sprint to the finish line. In fact our fundraising graph looks quite hilarious. Thank you so much for all you kind pledges in the last 72 hours - and to those of you who've just joined us welcome.
The final deadline for pledges is 10:08pm (GMT) tonight (call it 10pm for good measure) and we've got a little over a $1000 to raise. So we just need to give it final push.
Those of you that are social media'd up, I wondered if you could mention it one more time on your Facebook walls, Twitter or, even Google+ so all your friends know that it's now or never. Please include this site's short code http://kck.st/VUwall
We'll be talking about it all day so feel free to RT any of our comments on Twitter (www.twitter.com/villunderlondon) or share our updates on Facebook (www.facebook.com/villageunderground)
Thanks once more for our impressive weekend growth, we're totally touched that you care so much about our project.
The end is truly in sight!
Love
Auro x

Posted project update #9Art Jam Tiles For Sale
Post CommentThanks to all of you who came and said hello at the weekend or brought along friends to help raise awareness of our project.
We've got a few tiles from Sunday's Art Jam so we've decided to offer them as a $90 Kickstarter pledge. There are still some really nice pieces by SHEONE, Will Barras and Toaster which work really well either alone or together.
To order a specific tile you need to visit our Flickr page and reserve the tile you want then comment or message me with the reference number (first come first served basis)
Remember we only have six days to reach our target - so if you know anyone who has been meaning to pledge but hasn't, please prod them.

Posted project update #8Christmas Bazaar invite
Post CommentAt this time of year we like to open our venue doors for our Christmas Bazaar.
As wall lovers we thought you might be particularly interested in our live art jam. We’re building a panel the same size as our Great Eastern Street wall. It will be painted live by former wall artists including SHEONE, Will Barras, Toasters, Mr Jago and Pure Evil.
Manning the stalls are East London artists and collectives including Moniker Projects, Black Rat Press, Nelly Duff, Nobrow, Hang-Up Pictures, Beach London, Supreme Being and Scrawl Collective. They will be pushing a ton of limited edition Christmas goodies including prints, sketches, models, clothes and illustrations. The Hit and Run will also be doing live screen printing – just bring along clothes to customize.
In addition to this we’re holding a priceless art raffle for gifts that money can’t buy. Original artwork, prints, one off T-shirts and toys have been kindly donated by Eine, David Walker, Ronzo and many more.
We’ll get the customary vat of mulled wine and cider on the go with a bit of music and even some dancing. We usually ask for a donation but we’d like you to come along for free.
Doors are midday until late. Hopefully see you Sunday!
