Post CommentTHANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!! We did it. We have officially launched and you really helped to make this possible. I have attached a copy of our press release below. Take a look to see what we are all about and visit the site! www.telegraph21.com
........................
Today, www.telegraph21.com, a new concept in sharing and promoting videos online, will go live, screening curated documentary shorts and art videos from around the world. Updated daily, telegraph21 (t21) will provide a new kind of "cinematic" experience, using qualities of the digital space (mobility, flexibility, engagement & social interaction) to personalize and socialize video watching. Upcoming features include 2010 Oscar-Nominated documentaries and award-winning films from all parts of the world.“telegraph21 addresses a crucial global need for communication through art, and enables the power of documentary work to reach a wider audience.” Joe Berlinger, Award-Winning Filmmaker, Director/Producer of Crude (the first featured video on telegraph21), Brother's Keeper, Paradise Lost, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster
According to co-founder Lauren Kesner O’Brien, t21 will make documentaries accessible to a wide, international audience, and give filmmakers a tool to screen, market and promote their work online. Original print and video interviews with directors, slide shows and interactive activities accompany each featured video. Contributing media partners include ITVS Independent Lens, PBS, Oscilloscope Laboratories, the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, Nomadsland, the ACLU, independent media producers and emerging directors. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and selected works are featured as part of t21’s weekly programming.
A launch celebration will be held on January 12th at SPiN New York— the stylish table-tennis hot spot owned in part by actor/activist Susan Sarandon. The guest list includes a number of prominent figures in the fields of documentary, journalism and art in New York City including Mai Iskander (Garbage Dreams), Joe Berlinger (Crude), Jonanthan Bricklin and Morgan Spurlock (The Entrepreneur).
Steffie Kinglake and Lauren Kesner-O’Brien share a passion for fresh content on the web that serves to educate and enrich public dialogue and ideas. Kesner O’Brien has produced documentaries for BBC, PBS, CNBC, NYTimes, and MSNBC. Kinglake has a breadth of management and curatorial experience, is a published photographer, and has produced cultural events in New York and Barcelona.

The t21 team!

The 2 videos I saw (about Armenia, and about the papercraft artist) were very interesting, beautifully and professionally done, and also inspiring. The notes at the end of each video that listed websites with further information about each topic are a great idea, too.
