    Sept Update!

Greetings! Things trundle along at EBEHQ!

I had a really interesting conversation with Fulp the other day about new media formats and how NG is prepping for the future of the web/tv/whatevertheymergeinto. There's a lot to keep on top of.

As of late I’ve been restructuring the film a bit. The topics and themes I’m covering are so interrelated in various ways that I was finding some redundancy and I think the new order of things will help with that. This has always been a balancing act between chronology and themology (if that’s a word) and I feel like the new structure is tighter. This may sound slight but it feels like a real breakthrough. The giant mural-flowchart of Post-Its is down, filed away for safe keeping and for the aforementioned restructuring. That part is a little sad, but necessary.

I’m also picking up some hours teaching computer stuff to under-served kids in North Philly. The highlight is an animation class. The universe has been pretty good to me of late and it’s a nice way to pay back some karma. In a perfect world I’d include some of their animation in the film! We shall see.

As I move into the stage where I’m more concerned with collecting and coordinating the animation portions of the film, I’d like to make these posts more often. Thank you all again for making this learning process possible. I’m really starting to see some light at the end of this tunnel. It may just be a skylight along the way, but I’ll take it.
    Back to it!

    N

P.S. You know who’s a really smart guy? David Firth. He is way more normal and insightful than Salad Fingers would lead you to believe. Class act.

    Hot Stuff!

    Greetings and salutations!
I’ve been reminded that there hasn’t been an update in awhile, so I’m just checking in. Things continue to go pretty well at EBEHQ, although the heatwave in the northeast combined with being on the top floor has made for a few more brutal days as I pore over my clips and notebooks. Not to worry, giant fans stave off death and melting and I am undaunted by the elements as I continue to divide and order people’s comments by chronology and topic. At the risk of repeating myself, I continue to enjoy this satisfying if somewhat tedious process. Today I’ve been revisiting the interview with TimBavlnka of the Popular Culture Dept at Bowling Green State University. I also had a semi-major footage find! This is more for the hard core Newgrounds fans, but I did manage to lay my hands on a dv tape of some footage from Newgrounds past... Way back in August of 2000... Some random shots of the guys goofing around in their apt lead into a live FDA show. Not super expository but a very fun find and a piece of their history.
Anyway, things are still on track and I’m feelin’ good. Just very warm. The plan is still to begin contacting animators in the fall and I’m also thinking about musical selections from the NG audio portal.
    Back to it. Stay cool!

    Nathan

If you want any help with Newgrounds music, I have downloaded a lot of music since I joined back in 09'. I can give you some suggestions for certain songs by classic audio tracks by artists in the portal so you don't lose time with some of the rubbish songs.

It can be tiresome sorting through all the songs up on the portal, mainly with the Techno and Trance.
