Posted project update #5They're done!
Post CommentOK, gang, despite cancelling the funds we got the movies done. Those of you who contacted me about still be included in the credits are in the thanks of the first film. This weekend you can see them BOTH online for free.
"Alien Vengeance" is available at www.bcinema.tv under "features" and "sci-fi"
"Alien Vengeance II" will go live for 4 hours (a roughcut) on November 7, 2010 at 8PM EST at www.alienvengeance.com/rogue.html
We're now gearing up to raise a massive amount of funds for "Alien Vengeance 3D", which we will not be able to shoot without some outside help and funding. It's a much "bigger" film, with more locations, more F/X and relatively large cast for micro-budgeted films.
Thanks again for your support. Please take the opportunity to check out the two movies and tell your friends you were there when it all started.

Posted project update #4Reasons for funding cancellation and please don't fret.
Post CommentI want to start by thanking EVERYONE who pledged. The support means a great deal to me. We were closing in on our goal and I think we had a good shot of making it, but recent events made me rethink the need for raising funding in this manner to finish this project.
1. Due to scheduling dilemnas Debbie's ticket had to be purchased before our end date. This meant that "floating" charges on credit cards and such would be necessary and if we didn't reach our goal we'd have to find a way to pay the piper.
2. The recent events in TN have a caused a REAL need for help for people who are in a far more serious situation than I am. Nancy and I have figured out how to finance 7 other movies. We'll make this one work. Generous people like yourselves shouldn't have to worry about a pledge made to our films when considering what to give to Flood Relief efforts.
3. My cast and crew knew that we were trying hard to do a lot with a little and they all came through for me with flying colors. From sharing rooms and carpooling to bringing their own food. It was inspiring.
I do know that some of you were actually excited about the rewards we were offering, so those who had already pledged and were anticipating specific rewards, I will honor those if you pledge an equal or greater amount to the Tennessee flood relief efforts. This won't be done through kickstarter. It is something I'm offering you directly.
Don't worry, the show will go on. It just felt wrong to me to continue to try and raise funds when there was so much else going on in the world.
Again, thankyou all for your support.
Also, anyone who still wants your name to appear in the thanks section of the credits please contact me and let me know. As I said, the support means a lot and for that I am thankful.
Sincerely,
Jason L. LiquoriPS This is the site for contribuitng to the Red Cross relief effort: http://newsroom.redcross.org/
PPS: I in no way intend to imply that any other project raising funds at the moment shouldn't be doing so. Each project has its own needs. I just felt we could fill our needs another way.

Posted project update #3First day of shooting
Post CommentSo, we got through our first day of shooting "Alien Vengeance II: Rogue Element" and it was spectacular! My Sister-in-law got us a location for free and what was written to be shot in a small office was able to be shot in an examination room. The doctor's office was huge. So I added a sequence in which our character is brought down a hallway to her psychiatrist in handcuffs, where she plans her excape. Thanks to my wife's baking skills we were able to make use of some candy glass F/X and the statue assault scene had some angles added to it as well.
After sending the cast members home from that location I drove over to another actor's house to shoot an incidental scene. It was another situation where something I had written was able to shot BETTER than I had expected. What happens lots of times in ultra-low budget movies is we write in things we're not really sure we can afford or secure, but thanks to Paul we got a resource I was having some trouble finding. I offered to go out ot Paul's house to shoot and save him some travelling. The scene was supposed to take place in a gated community, but I wasn't sure we'd be able to find one where we could shoot. Well, Paul lives in one! What luck! The gates were exactly as I had picutred them and he did a great job with his role.
Sometimes things just work out. And with great supporters like all of you I'm hoping to be able to do more. Thursday we start the last four days of shooting pre-Debbie Rochon. Death, mayhem, blood and TENTACLES! to follow.

Thanks, Robyn! I see your page is chugging along well too. With any luck we'll both have some movie to show at the end of the year. By the way, gang, to see the T-shirt and other apparel mentioned in the $75 pledge reward section go to: http://www.cafepress.com/AlienVengeanc

"The Squad", Directed by Robyn Griggs by Robyn Griggs
This is a film that I have wanted to do for many years, I want to go old school 1970s' type of horror. I am going to take a chance, I am going for it
