    Updates On Twitter and Facebook

    Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is staying warm out there. It's pretty cold here in Chicago but I'm inside most of the time working on the site anyway! My team and I are doing a lot of updating at facebook.com/epitonic and @epitonic on Twitter. Things are really moving rapidly toward launch now, so I encourage you to follow us at the aforementioned social network locations - I will not be posting on Kickstarter too often. Otherwise I will be making some launch plans public soon, and then be in touch with you about your incentives like t-shirts, being an editor, the launch party et al.

Your donations have really made this happen, I would not have been able to get this done without you.

Thanks so much, and go Bears!

    Justin

    Epitonic Relaunch Update 12.15.10

    Hello Everyone,

I wanted to break radio silence to say hello and give an update. Epitonic is coming along nicely. As you may know the original team and I have been basically spare time developing the site. So Epitonic has been coming along a little slower than we had originally planned and hoped for (actually pretty typical of a major web development project!). We recently identified that we could use some help, so I have used the Kickstarter money and some money I had in savings to hire a design firm and a freelance developer to help us all finish up the site and support the site after launch.

The ideas we have solidified and are building, the design concepts, and the editorial and functionality directions are all very exciting, and we cannot wait to share them with you. The timeline in place is very realistic now. We plan to be testing the site in January and going public in February. This is subject to an additional delay, but I think it will happen. I personally just finished my semester teaching and will be turning almost my full attention to Epitonic starting next week until late January.

The money raised on Kickstarter along with everyone’s help and encouragement has been absolutely crucial to this relaunch. Thank you so much, and look for more updates soon. Meanwhile be sure to enjoy the daily download at www.epitonic.com/daily and follow @epitonic.

Have a great holiday and thank you again.

    Your friend,

    Justin Sinkovich

    Epitonic Relaunch Update 10.15.10

    Hello Everyone,

I wanted to check in, say hello, and thank everyone again for your generous contributions, helping us to reach our goal. I will be in touch with you when we start to facilitate our incentives like t-shirts, launch parties, et al. I just returned from San Francisco where Alex, Aaron, and I were able to work on the new site face to face. I also had an opportunity to meet up with several others from the original Epitonic staff, many of which will be contributing editorially. I am super excited about what we are developing, so please stay tuned as we move toward launch. And thank you so much again, this really is a dream come true for us!

    All the best,

    Justin Sinkovich

    Epitonic Relaunch Update 09.24.10

    Hey All,

Thank you for the outpouring of support and reminding us of how much Epitonic has meant to everyone over the years. All of the tweets, emails, articles, et al have really reinforced our enthusiasm in building a new Epitonic.com.

To give you an update, we have been busy designing and building, while also connecting with friends new and old that can help us on all fronts of development, content, and editorial. I think the new site will be something exciting, unique, and in the spirit of the original Epitonic, but different for more modern users of the superweb.

We have one week left until the Kickstarter campaign is completed. I especially thank everyone who has donated here. Every single contribution is extremely helpful in us attaining our goals since we are doing this entire initial launch with practically zero budget.

Expect more updates soon, if not here, then on Twitter or on the site itself. I hope you have also been enjoying the Daily Downloads we've been posting at http://www.epitonic.com/daily/

    Thanks again, all the best,

    Justin Sinkovich

Hey Sinead, nice to hear from you. This Kickstarter campaign has been up for a couple of weeks, we've been working on the site for a couple of months now. Yes, you can pledge from outside of the US. I don't want to say too much about what the site will be, except that it will be the same concept as the original but with several new modern features that will make it compelling and unique to users today, and after we launch we will be steadily adding new features as we keep builidng the site. Thanks very much for all of your support! Justin Sinkovich
