Thank you
Post CommentThank you everyone who pledged! Together we have taken a big step towards giving Booklyn and all our associated artists more online visibility and the public more accessibility. Hopefully you will all find something to love or learn with the new online database. The new form will be able to evolve and grow better than anything we've ever pu online.
One of our goals when we started was to double the number of people (72) who pledged 2 years ago when we were trying to pull together support for the Booklyn Decade Archive. And thanks to 154 people, we reached all our goals.

Soon you will get an email asking you to come back to Kickstarter and give us a few details (mailing address, etc) so that we can send you your prizes. Please watch out for this so that we can send you your goodies.
Thanks from all of us at Booklyn! -

Spread the word...
So far we've gotten a lot of encouraging pledges, but time is running short... We have only 10 days left, with a huge gap between where we are and where we need to be to make this successful. Lots of great new prizes have been added to the campaign. Those who have already pledged can still modify their pledges to get something else... Or encourage others to join the fun and find their own piece of Booklyn. Imagine owning your own Aaron Noble, Bongout, Art Noose, Raymond Pettibone, Mark Wagner, Candace Hicks, Stephen Dupont, Russel Maret, 5 Year Plan, and more! Without public support, Booklyn cannot do everything we want to do to bring great art to the masses!Post Comment -

After the funding...
Post CommentThanks to everyone who has pledged funds!
This is such a huge project that we need all the support we can get. It really started a couple years ago when we began putting together the (physical) Decade Archive that has so recently gone to hte Library of Congress... from there, we kept rolling and began to design our next generation database using collectiveaccess.org. The folks at Wirl-i-gig.com have been great, getting the ball rolling with that. And now that we're finalizing the actual database, we need to fund the completion of this project: a real, searchable online database and whole new website for Booklyn. That will ultimately give our artists more exposure, and more opportunity. In addition, we will have a pretty amazing research tool for educators, librarians, artists, collectors, museums, and the public in general.
We're currently reviewing proposals from webdesigners and developers, so if you or anyone you know is interested in geting in on this project at this level, please contact us (we've extended our deadline). The RFP is here: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150380355837735
In the meantime, however, we can't hire anyone unless we reach our funding goal, and we're still a long way off. If you can increase your pledge, that's great. And if you can't, maybe you can talk someone else into making the click. Every little bit helps. And remember, we're all in this together. We need to reach that goal in order for you to get your prize!

Thanks and share the love
Hey everyone who has jumped in early to pledge! We love you. Make sure your desire to help Booklyn goes as far as possible! Call in your rich uncles and friends who believe in supporting great artist-run non-profit orgs. Email them a link to this. You won't get your reward unless we reach that $12K goal...Post Comment -
