Kickstarter is a place where people come together to fund and promote projects, and watch them grow; we rely on positive interactions between everyone to facilitate that. To participate, all Kickstarter users must follow our Terms of Use and these simple guidelines. They ensure that Kickstarter is a friendly place where criticism is constructive and passion is celebrated.

Project Guidelines

Kickstarter is a funding tool for creative projects. If you have a project you're interested in posting, you can learn more here. Note that projects that fall outside of our focus will be politely declined, so please read our guidelines carefully.

Projects must be focused on a specific goal and offer backers tangible, reasonably priced rewards. Projects involving donations, personal charity, or general business expenses are not good fits.

Creators must be diligent in managing their project. We encourage creators to imagine the experience that they would want as a backer, and then replicate that for their own project. A good project creator:

Finally, projects that don't meet our guidelines or include content that we deem objectionable to our community standards may be hidden from public pages.
