Posted project update #6Winding Stream Update #6 - Rounding third and heading for home
Hi everyone -
Friday night's Kickstarter party at Art Department was a success on so many levels. Thanks to everyone who attended, to those who donated, to Counterfeit Cash who regaled us with songs by Johnny and June, to Widmer Brothers for supplying their fine beer, and to the gang at Art Department for spearheading the whole shebang. It was a memorable evening and generated even more enthusiasm for the film.
We're closing in on the end of this Kickstarter campaign. Only nine more days to go. Thanks again to all of you who've pledged your support. And please pass this along to anyone you think would be interested. Though we've met our goal, any further funding would be applied to all the other work we need to complete after we're done shooting!
Here's another little scene from the film we hope you'll enjoy. The fantastic June Carter.
Pass it around.
Hope your holidays are happy and peaceful.
With gratitude,
Beth

Iceland - so far away.
Post commentThat's where the book sits, on press. It will be on a flight back here on Jan. 3. So all I can do is wait. Envelopes addressed and stamped. I will have to sign the first edition to you, my backers. Then they will be dropped in the mail slot. For my international friends - customs forms, yadda-yadda-yadda. So a little longer. Out of my hands and oh so frustrating. Does patience become an artist? Working on it.

Posted project update #4new rewards!? an enormous book!? thanks again!
Dearest everyone,
Thank-you so very, very much. We are delighted! Michael is dancing! Thanks to your extraordinary generosity and belief in mysterious letters, buried treasures and behind the scenes goings on many many many more mysterious letters will be written! Thank-you so very much to all 58 lovely backers.
We have long harbored a secret desire to publish (officially) a book of mysterious letters. There will be pictures AND words. There might be an interview with a postman in it. The owner of each copy might receive a special mysterious letter to put in it, etc. etc. As we still have 45 days to go we decided that we will put any extra funds that are pledged toward this new plan.
So, as an incentive we're working on some BRAND NEW REWARDS! While we think about it, if you can think of any glaring omissions in our rewards list please leave them as a comment here. What is the best reward that we could offer? What did we forget? What do you need? Best ones get done! Think of it as a bespoke Kickstarter campaign. Hmm, there's a thought...
LOVE!

oh yay! you made it!

Creator Robin Hunicke on December 17, 2010
Yay!!! Well, this may be insane, but.... what about trying to get some indie comic artists to do a companion book that uses the letters as inspiration? I was thinking of forwarding your project to my friend John Pham (http://www.substitutelife.com/), who has contributed to projects like Kramers Ergot (giant book of indie comics) which put this crazy idea in my head...
-
Creator Lenka & Michael on December 17, 2010
Thanks Susan! And thanks Robin. That's not an insane idea, it's a good one! I actually own 2 different Kramor's Ergot's, I'm a fan of lots of the artists in those collections. John Pham is a wonderful artist. Do spread the word! (Although no doubt John has many grand ideas and storylines on the go.) Cheerio!

Posted project update #12It's December 17th
...and you may have noticed that we've yet to make any big announcements regarding the launch! Unfortunately that is because we haven't got a big announcement to make just yet! Due to sizing delays in production (plus the holidays) it's looking more like early January. There is good news however! The good news is we are working on a pre-sale and that you, beloved kickstarter friends, will be the first to hear about it! There is more good news but I'm going to be a bit of a tease about it and reveal it at a later date, hehe. I think you will like this one very much though!
On rewards, we received a few more returns in the mail last week, I'll be emailing you individually for an address confirmation!

Oh my goodness, I am crazy about that piece that you are wearing!! I've never seen anything like it, beautiful!
Also thank you for commenting on my blog a couple of days ago. You were my first and only comment so it meant so much :)
Have a happy holiday season!

You're very welcome (though really, I should be thanking you)!
The piece I'm wearing is one of my favourites from the collection! So super flattering and only just a bit scandalous (not to mention bodacious on every size).
Happy Holidays Amanda :D

First Look Friday-Pg. 42
So we're jumping around here with the page order. This is one of my favorites so far and it's not hard to see why. We're back before Velma goes down to her office.
Next week: Ring in the holidays with Velma at her favorite neighborhood gin joint.

Posted project update #29START THE PRESSES!
Greetings Party People,
I am pleased to inform you that the proof for GIANT-SIZED TALES TO SUFFICE arrived this week, and boy howdy does it look snazzy! I thought I was excited before, but holding this sucker in my hands, reading through it cover to cover, holding it in my hands some more, spooning with it, etc. has really taken things to a whole new level. Can't wait for you guys to see it!
Now, I don't yet have a definite ETA for the book's arrival back to me once it's printed, but it's looking like late January. In the meantime... I've got some rewards to draw! I wrapped up the Evil Clone's this week and am now moving on to the Time Travelling Gorillas. If you are a Time Travelling Gorilla, expect a direct message from me soon, as I'll just want to verify all the details so we can optimize the awesomeness of your piece.
I've also been finalizing various odds and ends for the Finkleman Fun Packs™, and the stickers should be arriving sometime this week. It's a small thing, but I like what they add to the presentation and I was all too happy to include them to commemorate the success of the campaign (and Deathrace 5000!)
I'm sure you're all crazy busy with wrapping up your respective years, and the holidays upon us, but I just wanted to keep you all posted! Thanks for reading. And expect those PDF previews to be showing up in your inboxes very, very soon!
