US Uncut & The Yes Men Will Steal Your Bacon

The Yes Men are all about spreading the wealth -- and not just the material wealth of others. After years of successful political stunts, these guerrilla pranksters have learned a lot about what to do, how to go about it, and, most importantly, how to get away with it. Now, they're offering these hard-learned tricks of the trade to activist groups worldwide in the form of The Yes Lab, a kind of think tank, incubator, and training ground to help social justice organizations carry out creative activism and gain media attention for their goals. The Lab first aided the grassroots anti-tax avoidance group US Uncut with the launch of GE's Gift To America Campaign, and their latest collaborative effort will document and expose the palm-treed truth about where all our money's gone.

Their mission: Travel to the Cayman Islands, home of the white collar Mai Tai, off-shore bank accounts, and 19,000+ corporations. Once there, they'll unravel tax secrets, embarrass tax lobbyists and politicians, and record it all for the world to see. Their proclamation: No budget cuts until corporate tax cheats pay up! You might ask, "What do they actually mean by bring the money home?" As US Uncut explains it:

"...a coalition of large corporations have come together -- under the name "WIN America Campaign" -- in an expensive scam to lobby Congress to allow them to 'bring the money home.' $1 Trillion in cash profits. The string attached? They don't want to pay their fair share of corporate taxes on this money, so they're holding it hostage in offshore tax havens like the Cayman Islands until the U.S. government bends and lets them repatriate it at a highly-reduced tax rate. We intend to make a mockery of this lobbying ploy. Using their own language."

With six days left to reach their $10,000 goal, the "Bring The Money Home" campaign has already been plugged by The Nation, and they recently posted the enthusiastic video update below. Click here to help make waves!
