We've got a massive crush on Cecilia Elguero. An Argentina-born, Brooklyn-based designer and artist, Elguero works with a range of materials but has "a special affinity for clay for its material characteristics and its sustainable aspect." As told to Working Class Magazine, Elguero is a big Arduino fan, appreciates the delicate details of Japanese sculpture, and cites the beauty-through-utility approach of Buckminster Fuller as inspiration for her art.

The clay-enthusiast is raising funds on Kickstarter for a jewelry line made from black and white porcelain and finished with metallic glaze. Called "Amuletos," the collection is minimal, sleek, strong, and affordable. The aesthetic evokes what the future looked like to people of the past — a sort of Mod meets moon meets Bedford Avenue. Offering x-treme bang for your buck, Elguero's hip and hand-crafted rewards are easy on the eyes and wallet.

Very inspiring designs. I like the "retro vision of the future" theme.
If I may be pardoned a slightly off topic note, I recently gave a very well received talk on the basics of Kickstarter to the
CT inventor's association. If any Kickstarters out there are considering a product design or technology project, you might want to catch at least the first five minutes of the webcast at http://bit.ly/qzhAXl.
All of the essential information is there along with some great FAQs.
Thanks Mark, I'll check out the link you provided. I've just launched it started great, now it's sort of zzzzz. All the best,
